Kohjinsha PA series UMPC/MID now shipping – Costs a bomb!

Kohjinsha PA is finally being shipped now and one can get this device online via GeekStuff4U.com for $930 (84,800 Yen)

Kohjinsha PA series is decent looking MID, which is equipped with an Intel Atom Z520 processor coupled together with paltry 512 MB RAM. You get 32GB SSD for storing your data. It has a small 4.8-inch screen.

Nokia N900 MID/phone available on pre-order in the UK

In UK, you can now pre-order Nokia N900 MID at Nokia Online UK. Nokia is offering it for just £499 (inc. VAT) with free Sim card, which I think is a pretty decent deal for a MID+phone combo.

Toshiba NB205 now available for order

Toshiba has finally made the NB205 for order with the choice of four colors. This new Toshiba will cost you $399. Obviously, you will get the Toshiba’s high chassis quality and chiclet keyboard similar to the keyboard found on new VAIOs and Macbooks.

It comes with Atom N280 processor, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD and 10.1-inch display. Its 6-cell battery claims to give the user 9 hours of use!

It is a great to know that Toshiba went for N280 processor and not Z520 processor, which sometimes chokes even while running XP!

Lenovo IdeaPad S10-2 now available for order

Lenovo announced nearly a month back that they would be offering a 3G version of their existing S10 netbook, which will be known as S10-2. Well, it is now finally available for preorder for $439 and is available in colors of grey, black, white and pink.

Compal to make ultra-thin notebooks for DELL

According to Digitimes, Compal has received order from Dell to make ultra-thin notebooks using Intel’s CULV CPUs. Compal is already making ultra thin notebooks for the Toshiba and Lenovo.

The notebooks are expected to ship in the month of August.
