Viewsonic has unveiled a new nettop known as the VOT125. You get four processors to choose from - Single Core SU743 Celeron ($499 MSRP), Dual Core SU2300 Celeron ($529 MSRP), Pentium SU4100 Dual Core ($629 MSRP) or Core 2 Duo SU7300 Dual Core ($679 MSRP) processor. Comes with 160GB HDD, 4 USB 2.0 ports, DVI and HDMI outputs. There is no mention of VGA port in the specs.

Runs Windows 7 Home Premium and supports upto 2GB RAM.

What you will NOT find in this nettop is an OS, RAM or hard disk. There is a space for DVD burner that you will have to get it yourself. Viewsonic has launched two new nettops in the market. Both the high end PC Mini, VOT550 and VOT530 nettops have Core 2 Duo T6600 processor that runs at 2.2GHz clock speed and also have GMA 4500MHD integrated graphic chipset. You can have VOT530 at $749 where as VOT550 costs $949. Very Pricey!Both run Windows 7 Home Premium as OS. Even thought there is so much of horse power underneath, there is no HDMI. There are 6 USB 2.0 ports though along with DVI and S/PDIF out.The VOT530 nettop has 320GB Hard disk and a single RAM slot with maximum limit of 2GB memory stick. VOT550 comes with bigger HDD, 500GB. After unveiling the first Pine Trail nettop, China is the first one to roll out a netbook based on Pine Trail platform: Kenade K116. The Kenade K116 features an Intel Atom N450 processor, Intel GMA 500 graphic chipset, an 11.6-inch display with 1280 x 800 resolution, 250GB HDD, 1GB RAM, Wi-Fi b/g/n and optional Buetooth radio.It will be available with either 4000mAh or 4500mAh Li-ploy battery. This nettop, caught on shanzai scene, features a VIA C7-M (1.6GHz) processor and uses a VX700 chipset. It is one of the tiniest nettops we have ever come across. Also the sources over at Shanzai claims that another version will be out soon later in the year which will feature a VIA Nano processor and the VX855 media system processor.Ports: S-video, VGA, 3x USB, 5.1 channel audio output, Ethernet and has the usual 160GB HDD / 1GB RAM and a Bluetooth / Wi-Fi combo.

Zotac has announced a nettop called Mag, which is a pretty small nettop. It will be made available in two versions. One single core: Atom 230 and other dual core: Atom 330.Both versions are otherwise identical: 2GB RAM, 160GB HDD, NVidia's 9400M ION chipset, LAN, WiFi (b/g/n), eSATA port, 4-in-1 card reader, 6 USB 2.0 ports, HDMI out and D-Sub out. Here is another instant on OS for the nettops: Phoenix’s HyperSpace OS. Interestingly, it will be coming preloaded on nettops powered by the Intel Atom 230 or Atom 330 processors. HyperSpace is one of those most “Instant On” types of OS that are quicker to boot up and shut down than Windows XP. As expected, it comes with only essential apps. The cost varies from $33 - $60 a year depending on what subscription you get.According to Phoenix Technologies, HyperSpace “delivers instant-on, always-connected access to the Internet and key productivity applications such as HyperSpace Office Suite, Adobe Photoshop, Hulu, McAfee, Real Networks, Yahoo Search, etc.”Hyperspace is an instant on OS based on Linux kernel. Asrock has announced that they will soon launch a nettop with built-in Blue-Ray drive. This is surprising considering the fact that most of the nettops do not even come with any sort of optical drive. It seems Asrock thought that the Blue-ray drive was not enough for it for making it stand out from the rest of nettops so they added in a mammoth sized 320GB hard disk and 2GB of RAM. Couple that with the powerful ION chipset, we have the most powerful nettop ever built.Price is not known at the moment, but we expect it not to be costly.

Unfortunately, they have taken away the powerful NVIDIA Ion GPU and it now comes with Intel’s GN40 chipset with GMA X4500 graphics.The Acer Veriton N260G nettop comes equipped with a 160GB HDD, 2 GB RAM, 6 USB ports, HDMI as-well-as VGA port. Emtec to launch ION-powered nettop

Emtec is planning to launch an nettop powered by ION-chipset. The nettop will come with 160GB hard disk, 1GB RAM and will run Windows XP.

It comes with 6 USB ports (4 at the back and 2 on the front), Ethernet, WiFi, Mic and headphone jacks. Expect the price to be around $300 (£180). According to pocket lint, there will be two models: one with HDMI port and one without one. Of course, you will have to shell out a bit more for the one with HDMI port.

Couple of months back, we reviewed the Nova Navigator, touted as "India's $100 PC." But, it was a nettop and not a laptop or a netbook. As a result of that, Indian Government has decided to purchase 250,000 XO OLPCs. These machines will be distributed in nearly 1500 schools throughout the country.OLPC launched a pivot program in India in the year 2007, where the OLPC gave away 20 XO in the Khairat-Dhangarwada village in the state of Maharashtra (India).OLPC is an organization which sells low cost laptops to the governments of developing countries. The XO laptop by OLPC does not come with any fan inside. However, it is dirt and moisture resistant which makes it ideal for use in dirty environments.

At CeBIT 2009, ASRock have entered into the nettop segment by launching S330, a nettop using the dual-core Atom 330 processor. For storage, it comes with 160GB HDD. It comes with a total of 6 USB ports which should be enough for your USB peripherals. ASRock have also included their popular Instant Boot to make the overall package even more attractive.
