Aoson Netbook looks too much like Sony Vaio P

Aoson Netbook looks too much like Sony Vaio P

The Chinese manufactures heart Sony Vaio P’s unique design and that is the core reason why we have seen multifarious Vaio P clones so far. We may sound a bit blunt, but other than its copycat-design, there is nothing remarkable about this netbook. You get the Atom Z530 1.6GHz processor, 1GB RAM, 8.9-inch display, and 80GB hard disk. It weighs-in at 800gm which means that it about 140gm heavier than the real ‘thing’.

No information on its price or availability, but we are pretty sure that it won’t ever make it to the US.

Woa, yet another netbook clone and guess what, again imitating the looks of the Sony Vaio P. This netbook clone, called the Sungworld L3 sports an Intel Atom N270, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD and 3200mAh battery. Also features CMMB TV Module and Touchpad, both of which are not there in the original one. It is priced at $308, which clearly makes it much more affordable than the original Vaio P.

Dell Adamo 11.6-inch netbook [Clone]

Dell Adamo 11.6-inch netbook [Clone]

Dell Adamo surely has stunning design and at the same time, stunning price tag too. That was enough to lure the Chinese (clone) manufactures to make its clone and guess what, they actually made one. But, it of smaller size and sports an 11.6-inch display as opposed to the original one that comes with 13-inch display. In China, there have been at least four companies that are busily engrossed prepping these clones of Dell Adamo notebooks netbooks.

It is being said that there are two versions of these clones – one with pine trail guts (Atom N450) and another is CULV-powered (SU 2300)

11.6-inch and 12-inch clone of Acer Aspire D150 netbook

11.6-inch and 12-inch clone of Acer Aspire D150 netbook

Acer phased-out D150 few months back, but that did not stop the Shenzhen market from churning-out its clone, that too with modern specs. There are two clones of Aspire D150, both being bigger than the original one. The one with 11.6-inch display has pine-trail guts (Atom N450) and comes with 1GB RAM and 160GB hard disk.

The 12-inch version is similar to the 11.6-inch one. The only difference is the cost – 11.6-incher being 50-100 Yuan ($15) cheaper

  • 11.6 display
  • 1366×768 resolution

Yet another Sony Vaio P clone

Yet another Sony Vaio P clone

One thing is for sure – Sony Vaio P is very popular in China. Perhaps that is the reason that we have seen so many clones of it so far (see this, this and this). Malata, that had unveiled Vaio P’s clone few months back, has now come up with yet another clone of it. There is not drastic increase in terms of specs though. It still comes with the ancient Atom N270 processor, 16GB solid state drive for storage and runs Windows 7 Home Basic edition. There is additional 160GB hard disk drive that is included with the netbook to let you store those huge media files.

Like its previous clone, this clone by Malata also comes with 8.9-inch display, but this time, it has been endowed with the touch functionality. Priced at about ~$590 (3999 Yuan), it is available in 4 colors – pink, lilac, black or blue

Here is another tablet that resembles the looks of the Apple iPad. It sports a slightly smaller 8.9-inch multitouch display and is powered by Atom N270 processor that lets it run Windows 7 OS, whereas Apple’s A4 processor is not PC compatible. Other specs include 2GB of DDR2 memory and a 32GB SSD with SD expansion.

Battery life is not iPad-ish. You will be able to get ~4 hours runtime, but then you will be able to do some real PC work

Malata PC-98905 Netbook – lost sister of Sony Vaio P?

Malata PC-98905 Netbook – lost sister of Sony Vaio P?

One thing is for sure now – Chinese companies have a peculiar affection for the Sony Vaio P. No wonder, we have seen so many Chinese companies cloning this excellent piece of technology – see this and this.

This time, we have Malata who have launched a netbook that looks pretty identical to the Sony Vaio P. Although its name is a bit difficult to remember, its specs did not disappoint us for sure. Sporting an 8-second boot time, SSD (Solid State Drive) and dimensions of just 256 x 27 x 143mm, it indeed does not have monotonous netbook specs.

It comes with Atom N270/N280 processor, but can be customized with the recently unveiled Atom N450 Pine Trail CPU. This little Malata has a 8.9-inch display with 1024×600 resolution and 8/16/32GB of SSD storage with 1/2GB RAM. Of course, you get WiFi radio and other standard netbook features like 1.3MP webcam and Bluetooth.

Battery capacity is 3000mAh. Sure, the battery capacity is not huge by any means, but compared to VAIO P, which comes with 2100mAh battery and somehow still manages to give 2.5 hours of runtime (thanks to its extremely power-sipping processor, Atom Z-series), the Malata should have more or less, runtimes similar to that of VAIO.

The only feature that makes Malata a netbook and VAIO P, a higher end mini-laptop is the screen resolution. Vaio P has 1600×768 pixels packed into 8-inch screen. On the other hand, Malata has typical netbook resolution – 1024×600.

Macbook Air replica from China

Macbook Air replica from China

Folks over shanzai, noticed DianJiTek’s 11.6-inch DI 1201, which unmistakably looks inspired by Macbook Air – sporting a small umbrella logo on its outer lid. It has 11.6-inch display with 1366 x 768 resolution, runs on Atom N270 clocked at 1.6GHz, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, Built-in antenna and packs a rather small 3200mAh 3-cell lithium-polymer battery.

It has a tasty chiclet style keyboard which should be great to type upon. Colors available are – black, silver, red or brown. Priced at about 360 USD, though bulk orders brings the price down to 290 USD.
