NEC LaVie Light netbook – nothing special about it
While the NEC’s LaVie M is a proper CULV notebook, LaVie Light certainly isn’t. Aptly containing the word light, it weighs just 1.1kg. It is flagged by NEC to give one upto 3.9 hours (~4h) of battery life.
Specifications: 10.1-inch screen, Atom N280 processor, Windows 7 Starter, 945GE express chipset, 1GB RAM and 1024×600 resolution,
It will retail at $660 (60005 yen) and will be available in Red, White and Black.
LaVie Light Lui Mobile Netbook – NEC’s New Netbook
NEC has a released a netbook meant to be used with “NEC LUI remote desktop system”, LaVie Light Lui Mobile. It comes with an Intel Atom N280 1.66GHz, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, 1.3MP webcamera. It has a 10.1-inch screen with 1024×600 resolution which is generally found in an average netbook. NEC claims battery life to 8.5 hours, which is pretty solid for a netbook. No idea about pricing and release date till now.
