Unfortunately, only some (stupid) HP branded USB drives use it. But, according to many reports online, it acts just like a normal USB port.Sheeri at Technocation.org has come up with an interesting solution that lets you use it as a normal USB port. However, keep in mind that it requires opening your HP Mini 1000 and it is not for the average dude. This is a great news for the HP Mini 1000 owners as it Mini 1000 comes with only 2 USB ports. Most of the netbooks in the current market come with 3 USB ports and Mini 1000 falls short by 1 USB port. The mod does gives you an 'extra' USB port, but voids your warranty too. So do keep that in mind before doing this mod on your elegant Mini 1000.
