Medion Pine Trail netbook in the tunnel – Akoya Mini E1217
Medion is one of the participants of the IFA 2009, where they have unveiled a slew of netbooks including Akoya Mini E1315 which a netbook with touchscreen display. There is another netbook that Medion launched, Akoya Mini E1217. The E1217 is a ultra-slim netbook which features an 10-inch display. The company promises to deliver the same model with 11.6-inch display. It will be based on the Intel Pine Trail (PineView) platform, which is the successor of the Intel Atom platform.
Like the majority of the modern netbooks, this one does NOT have a built-in 3G module. However, Medion (again) promises to launch one with built-in 3G modem.
It will be available in black and white colors. The Mini E1217 is scheduled to be released in January, 2010. No information on its price
Medion Akoya Mini E1315 gets Touchscreen Treatment!
Earlier, Akoya was going to sell it without touchscreen, but now they have decided to sell one with one! Before this point, Medion never had a netbook with a touchscreen display. That said, its display does not swivel, so there is no ‘tablet’ mode.
It features an AMD Neo processor and ATI Radeon Xpress 1250 graphic chipset. It also has 2GB RAM and can be configured with upto 500GB HDD (default config: 160GB).
Medion releases AMD-based Akoya Mini E1312 netbook
Medion has taken the wraps-off its new AMD-based netbook, Akoya Mini E1312. It comes with a low-power AMD Sempron 210U processor and ATI Radeon Xpress 1250 graphics. You will find an 11.6-inch display, 1GB of RAM, 160GB HDD and a six-cell or nine-cell battery which should give you plenty of runtime. No word on its release. Expect the price to be around $550.
