ARM processors to power servers?
According to an article published on eetimes, ARM is busy preparing an ARM processor for use in servers. Here is a quote from the article
We are on par [with the x86] in performance today and have a detailed road map that will really push performance up. At least one partner is working on a port of a server version Microsoft Windows to ARM, and has access to some of the low level code needed for that job. That is a large undertaking.
Efficiency of ARM processor plus power of x86? Sounds interesting

BPhone MID runs Linux
Want a nice stylish Linux machine with a swivel screen that does not costs $1000+? Then, you shall give a glance to the BPhone. From China, this baby features a 5-inch WVGA display, QWERTY keyboard and Marvell PXA310 624MHz processor. Oh, and it is an unlocked phone too. The BPhone costs $570.
That keyboard does not look comfortable, does it?

Aigo N500 MID – Maemo Goodness
Aigo newest MID is the N500 that is powered by the Intel Marvell PXA310+ processor and runs Maemo OS. The Aigo features a 4.3-inch WVGA display (resistive), 256MB ROM, 128MB RAM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G, GPS, webcam and a 3.2MP camera for taking photos.
Equipped with a decent 2600mAh battery, the Aigo N500 retails for $586 in China. Without a doubt, this costs a Benjamin more compared to cheap $299 netbooks that we see around, but how many netbooks can work as a phone?
Marvell working on QUAD-CORE ARM!
Talk about being insane. Marvell, a popular chipmaker is working on an unnamed quad-core ARM processor. The processor uses same architecture as the Armanda 600 CPU (seen in Marvell Smartbook) and can be clocked at more than 1GHz. Marvell wants these processors to be used in the field of gaming. ARM and Gaming?
The only scenario where I see a perfect fit for it is smartbooks. But then keeping the price down of the smartbooks would be a difficult task.

Marvell Smartbook packs Armada
Marvell is showing off its ODM smartbook at the CES 2010. It is powered by an Armada 510 CPU that has the capability to play back your 720p videos smoothly.
Equipped with a 12.1-inch display, this smartbook runs the mighty Ubuntu operating system. But that is not the most interesting part. What made us a fan of it is its $200 price tag. Marvell says that it would run for 4 hours on a single charge.

Marvell 1GHz Armada 610 launched
Marvell has launched a processor with wicked 1GHz clock speed. It has the capability to handle upto four 1080p displays, thanks to its ability to calculate upto 45 million polygons per second.
It has the same instruction set like the ARM cortex A8 CPU but is more capable and powerful. This new chip is targeted at MIDs, Smartphones, portable media players and eBook readers.
ENT N97 MID
ENT has launched N97 MID, which has a bright 7-inch TFT display and runs on an ARM processor. ENT is targeting it towards the media-centric people and to those who do browsing on-the-go. It has all the latest radios built-in: WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and even packs in 3G!
Its smooth rounded corners will make sure that it feels comfortable in your hands.
ENT says it will give you PC-class Internet experience, which we doubt would be possible on a MID like this that has a Marvell PXA303 ARM processor. It comes with 256MB flash-based storage which can be extended by use of SD cards (upto 16GB supported).
It is powered by a lithium-polymer battery that should give you run time of around 4 hours. Oddly, the type of OS that it runs is not specified anywhere, but we expect it to be running Android OS
Note: This shall not be confused with the symbian-based Nokia N97 phone

1GHz Marvell processor for mobile devices – This had to happen!
It is no doubt that Marvell processors have proved themselves as the best mobile processors so far. A couple of days back, when we compared the Marvell processors with the Qualcomm processors, the Qualcomm was outbeaten not closely, but by large numbers. The comparison was first done with the ASUS P552W, which comes with a [...]
