But we have not heard anything from Lenovo regarding the Skylight tablet which should have been out by now. So what is stopping the Lenovo from making it available in the market? Well, Lenovo is working hard to swap the Skylight OS with the Android OS which if you ask us makes perfect sense as Android already has thousands of third party apps

At the CES 2010, Lenovo was able to grab a lot of media attention to its hybrid tablet. Yes, we are talking about the Lenovo IdeaPad U1 hybrid tablet which is a very interesting concept about a device that can serve two purposes – first it can be used as a slate tablet. Second, it can be used like a typical netbook.

Until now, it appeared that it may never hit the production, as Lenovo wanted to see if there is a market for slates. All thanks to the immense success of the iPad, Lenovo has taken the plunge and has made an announcement on their website about the Ideapad U1. There is no word on the pricing, but rumors are brewing up that it will cost around a grand – yes, two times the price of an iPad.

Woah! Lenovo is churning out new laptops and netbooks like there is no tomorrow. Lenovo has unleashed a new (little) beast – Lenovo Ideapad U1 Hybrid.

Powered by a powerful Intel Core 2 Duo CULV processor and Snapdragon processor, it can run Windows 7 Home Premium and Skylight Linux. Confused? When the screen is locked into the laptop’s chassis, it run Windows 7 home premium and utilizes the muscular Intel Core 2 processor, but when the screen is pulled out, it becomes a Snapdragon-powered multi-touch slate tablet with 16GB of SSD.

Price – $999. One word, “Ouch!”
