Lenovo X100e – Simple, Stylish and Powerful

Back in November 2009, we told the world about the launch date of the Lenovo X100e that it would make its debut in January 2010. Then, in December 2009, we saw three new Lenovos hitting the FCC, one of which was the Thinkpad X100e.

January 2010 means CES 2010 and the web administrator at Lenovo has already made the official webpage live of many of the upcoming Lenovos, including the one for the Thinkpad X100e.

The ThinkPad x100e features : an 11.6-inch @ 1366 x 768 Display (200 nits), AMD Athlon MV-40 processor,160 / 250 / 320GB Hard disk, 4GB memory, 3 USB 2.0 ports, Card Reader, Ethernet, Wi-Fi b/g, audio jacks, Optional Bluetooth and WWAN, HD Audio, stereo speakers and 0.3MP Webcam. Lenovo ThinkPad X100e launch date revealed

Lenovo ThinkPad X100e launch date revealed

Earlier today, we posted about the rumored Lenovo X200e. Well, it is actually Thinkpad X100e and it will be launched in the January 2010.

Here are its specs:

  • 12.1-inch screen (1280×800)
  • 1.6GHz Noe Processor
  • 3GB RAM or SSD
  • 6-9 cell Lethium-ion battery
  • Matt Kohut design
  • Windows 7

‘AMD has targeted this sector with its new Athlon Neo chipset which has more cache, an integrated memory controller and the 1.6GHz Neo is partnered with either ATI Radeon X1250 graphics, or ATI Radeon HD3410 graphics.

The higher-end option runs the Windows Vista Aero interface very well, handles some basic 3D gaming, and most importantly can play back full 1080p video. I think that it’s a master stroke by AMD from the price performance view point.’

According to thinkpadtoday, it will have Athlon 1.6GHz Neo processor with ATI Radeon HD3410 graphics or a CULV processor with the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD. I just hope Lenovo does NOT screw up the specs by putting in an Atom processor like what SONY did to the, otherwise wonderful machine, VAIO X

Here is a picture of upcoming Lenovo x200e Thinkpad. The source of these pictures call it X200e Thinkpad, but we think there is X100e written on the hinge. Also, it appears to be a 11-12 inch device to us. Will it be a netbook on steroids?
