HTC has received pretty good recognition and is now considered one of the most reputed smartphone manufactures. After netbooks, it is now turn for the phones to get equipped with XP.Meet the phone powered by AMD Super Mobile CPU. It has GSM, GPRS, EDGE and 3G too. For storage, you can get upto 64GB of SSD storage which would certainly make the current iPhone 3GS owners a bit angry. You can get 1GB RAM (512MB version is available)Compared to the fruit-phone, it has bigger display (4.8-inch) which means that it can easily be used as a MID. You get built-in WiFi and WiMax too. Sharp RD-PM1 MID – nothing great about this MID

Sharp has rolled out another great looking MID: RD-PM1. This design employs use of slider mechanism.It comes with a 4.3-inch touch-screen and a rather shabby resolution of 480x272. It has a sliding keyboard which it cleverly hides itself beneath its screen when not in use. It is powered by Windows CE 5.0 operating system. It has 8GB flash-storage, micro-SD slot (upto 16GB supported), built-in Bluetooth and WiFi. It is set to carry a price-tag of $290.To be honest, we were more impressed by the two other MIDs that the Sharp rolled out (Sharp PM-MID and Sharp PC-Z1). At least, they sported better resolution. Whats up with the pathetic resolution in RD-PM1? Heck, even iPhone has better resolution than that!

Toshiba is showing off 3 new MIDs: K01, K02 and L1. All of them sport touch screens. First MID, the K01, comes with an 4.1-inch slider touch screen and has thickness of mere 0.6 inches. Second MID, the K02 has an 3.5-inch screen having 800x400 (WVGA) resolution. It is equipped with a 10-key keyboard.Third one, the L1 has a bigger screen than aforementioned 2 models. It has a massive 7-inch screen. These MIDs will be released by end of the year 2010 and will run on Windows Mobile 6.5.Commentary: It is interesting to see manufactures still churning out MIDs based on Windows Mobile platform. This means that there is still a good market for the Windows Mobile MIDs since it also has its own advantages over the webOS, iPhone or Android OS., apart from the bucketfull of disadvantages when compared to other mobile operating systems.

Immediately after taking a quick glance at its specs, it was pretty clear that this phone is big. But, is it big as a MID? It is still very much pocketable and slim just like iPhone (which is also a powerful MID, which, unfortunately, cannot multi-task).The HTC LEO is rumored to be the first Windows Mobile device to sport a capacitive display just like iPhone. However, HTC LEO has much higher screen resolution than iPhone: WVGA (800x480), which will allow you to see much more information at a particular time. Oh and the display size is 4.3-inches!

Rockchip MID – More powerful than iPhone! – Great for Mobile Internet on the go

Rockchip is another MID using Google Android operating system that also has multi-touch functionality. The Rockchip comes with RK2800 CPU that runs at 600MHz clock speed and comes with Android OS version 1.5. It has 128MB RAM at its disposal.The Rockchip MID's 600MHz processor seems to be even more powerful than the iPhone as it surpassed iPhone in all browser tests. Not only dud the Rockchip MID won the contest, but it won by substantial margin. For example: Rockchip MID took 13.3 seconds to open amazon.com whereas iPhone took 21.2 seconds to open it. To open sina.com.cn, which is a Chinese site, Rockchip MID took 29 seconds and iPhone took 43 seconds. That is quite a difference.The only gripe is its low RAM. While most of the modern devices in the horizon come with 256MB RAM or more, the Rockchip MID comes with just 128MB RAM. Other than that, it is pretty powerful MID and is great for good Internet experience while on the go.

Most of our readers must be well acquainted with the 1GHz Qualcomm processor known as Snapdragon that set the mobile world on fire as it was the fastest smartphone processor till date. Samsung is now joining the ARM Race by unveiling their first 1GHz processor meant for mobile devices - Hummingbird processor.Some features of the upcoming Hummingbird processor:

Most of the netbook users do not know much about Celio Redfly. Well, it is device that comes with NO operating system, NO inbuilt memory and NO RAM! So what does it do? Well, it is just used to extend the display of your smartphone to its bigger 8-inch display. The screen has a WVGA resolution, which was used in the first generation of EEE PC (EEE 701). The celio redly also gives you a nice spacious keyboard to type upon.Sadly, it only works with Windows Mobile smartphones. So, do not think of extending your iPhone's display via Celio Redfly because it won't even detect it!Now, Celio is claiming that they have been able to sell enough of these Redfl-ies and they can now bring the price down to $250.
