Quanta QW6 says hello to FCC

Quanta, a popular cellphone and netbook manufacture is prepping a new netbook that is most likely to be launched under some popular brand name. We do not have the detailed specs yet, but we do know that this netbook has HDMI, VGA port, 3 USB ports, 1.3MP webcam and mouse buttons.

Speaking of the HDMI port, it appears Quanta is cooking-up an netbook with ION-chipset.

ASUS Eee PC 1201N to be in UK in January 2010

Latest word on this ION-netbook by ASUS is that they will be launching it in UK in the coming year 2010. Earlier, we mentioned that it would be launched in UK in December 2009, but it has now been postponed to mid of January.

It sports an ION processor, dual core Atom 330 processor, 320GB Hard disk + 500GB online storage, 0.3MP webcam, Wi-Fi b/g and 3GB RAM

Nothing is still mentioned officially on product page yet, also not on the ASUS global website.

Samsung N510 now available in US for pre-order ($574)

The Samsung N510 netbook is available for pre-order and can be found in the many stores with price ranging between $574.99 and $582.99. It is equipped with NVIDIA ION chipset. Here are its specs:

• 11.6-inch screen
• 1.66GHz N280 processor
• 2GB of Ram
• 250GB HDD
• 5900mAh Battery
• Windows 7 Home Premium

The US model has beefier specs as compared to the UK model that came with 1GB RAM and 160GB HDD.

ASUS Eee 1201N up for sale in Italy for 510 Euros

The ASUS EEE 1201N was noticed at e-tailer in Italy for 510 Euros. Yes, it is the upcoming mighty netbook by ASUS that sports an ION processor, dual core Atom 330 processor, 320GB Hard disk + 500GB online storage, 0.3MP webcam, Wi-Fi b/g and 3GB RAM

It also has built-in card reader,VGA, HDMI, Ethernet, 3 USB 2.0 ports, earphone jack. It comes with a 6-Cell battery and Windows 7 Home Premium as operating system.

Weibu N10A netbook out in Japan – ION powered netbook

Many manufactures are churning out ION-powered netbooks as they allow the users to view HD content without any hiccups. Weibu, a Japanese manufacture, has unveiled Weibu N10A netbook, that comes with an 10.1-inch display (1024×600) and Nvidia’s ION chipset. It retails for an affordable $556, which is a fine price considering the fact it packs an ION chipset.

Another interesting fact to note is that it uses Atom 230 processor that is used in nettops. It features 2GB RAM, 160GB HDD and HDMI out.

It is surprising to see Microsoft now allowing the use of nettop processors in netbooks. However, battery life is a big question mark as nettop processors are not as power-frugal as the ones used in usual netbooks.

Point of View Mobii ION 230 Netbook – ION inside!

Point of view has rolled out its own netbook, Mobii ION 230. Oddly, unlike most netbooks, it comes with an Intel Atom 230 processor that is used in Atom powered desktops. As its name suggests, it comes with the powerful ION chipset and an HDMI port for HD video playback.

Nvidia ion powered netbooks confirmed for June

A number of companies are preparing to announce Nvidia ION powered models of their netbooks. The netbooks would now have a more powerful graphics engine. However, the big announcements would be made at Computex, the annual PC trade show in Taipei at the beginning of June.
