Q1 2010 to see ‘Maldives’: A Beta version of Windows Mobile 7 – does it have the potential to be the best MID OS around?
Windows Mobile 7 beta test program is speculated to release to OEMs as a pre-release software to attract all the reviews before it gets released finally. Codenamed as ‘Maldives,’ this OS will release in Q1 2010 with the final release to public in Q3.
So, the two OSs- Windows Mobile 6.5 and 7 may co-exist if this actually happens. Read more at zdnet.
Commentary: It is certainly a daunting task for the Microsoft to change the perception of the people right now. People, currently think that Windows Mobile is clumsy and lacks user-friendliness. Using them as MIDs is a horror right now as Microsoft Internet Explorer, despite its revamp, sucks a big deal.
Internet Explorer gets a new life – Thanks to Google Chrome Frame browser plugin
Many of us are still using (or forced to use) the extremely annoying Internet Explorer which does not supports many of the web standards that a modern web browser should support. However, with the release of the Chrome Frame plug-in for the IE, you won’t be complaining anymore.
The Google Chrome Frame allow the IE to use HTML 5 elements and plethora of JavaScript enhancements that IE’s engine is unable to render.
What is our take on this? If you can, why not simply use Google Chrome or Firefox
