Samsung 4G netbook to be launched at MWC 2010
Samsung is going to show-off a 4G netbook at the MWC 2010. Rumors has it that it will be based on the Samsung N510 netbook. Samsung has been teasing us with their 4G products since 2006 and finally, they are going to unveil something that will actually hit production. It is going to be first 4G netbook using LTE (Long Term Evolution). The specs of the Samsung 4G netbook are going to be same as Samsung N510 + 4G radio. So, its specs should look like this:
Intel Atom N450 1.66GHz, 1GB RAM, 250GB HDD and 8.5 hour runtime (with 4G off)
For those who don’t know about 4G – It can give you upto 1Gbps of transfer speeds!


Viewsonic VNB105 Netbook
Viewsonic rolled out a new netbook based on the Pine Trail Atom platform at CES 2010. This one, called the VNB105, comes with Windows 7 Starter as its OS; has 1GB RAM and 160GB hard disk to store data. Its keyboard prohibits dust from entering inside. There are three USB 2.0 ports on this unit and a 6-cell battery that Viewsonic claims will run for 8 hours straight off a single charge.
It will be hitting the markets soon at a price tag of $399

MSI U130, U135 launched in India
MSI has unveiled two new pine trail netbooks in India – MSI WIND U135 and WIND U130. Both are very similar in terms of specifications – Atom N450, GMA 3150 and so on. MSI is also bundling a CPU clock utility similar to Asus’ Super Hybrid Utility.
Price: MSI U130 – $500 (Rs 23000) and MSI U135 – $543 (Rs 25000). Pretty expensive compared to US price, if you ask me. MSI U135 is being retailed for $329 in US
PS: for those who don’t know, those two netbooks are the first ones to receive the International WiMax Forum Certification

ASUS EEE 1005PE review
ASUS EEE 1005PE is the first netbook by ASUS to feature the latest Pinetrail processor. Infact, it is one of the first netbook out there to feature such a powerful processor. The 45-nanometer processor – Atom N450 combines both GMA 3150 graphic chipset and memory controller in a a single CPU die. So, does this new EEE PC really has something new to offer or is it just another EEE PC on the block.
The ASUS EEE 1005PE runs Windows 7 starter which has already been a huge hit among the netbooks and notebooks. It comes equipped with 1GB or 2GB of RAM. Also comes with it is the spacious 250GB hard disk @ 5400 rpm which is plenty fast for any task you throw to it. Just do not try running Halo or Crysis on it. Run that on your gaming rig.

Vendors to launch Atom N450 based netbooks on January 11, 2011
Major netbook players that include Asus, Acer, Lenovo and MSI are planning to launch their Atom N450 based netbooks immediately after Intel launches the Atom N450 on January 10, 2010. Malata will also commence shipping to its clients in Europe and US on January 11, 2010.
These Atom N450 based netbooks will be available with 3 types of OSes: Windows 7 starter, Moblin Linux and Windows XP. Netbooks with Linux are, undeniably going to be a cheaper than the rest two.
Atom N470 will be unveiled in March 2010
Intel Atom N450 to bring $299 netbooks down to $249 (PineView/PineTrail)
Intel’s new Atom for netbooks, N450 is planned to be launched on January 3rd, 2010. Although the performance boost is not significant, but it has an impressive TDP of 5.5W. Thanks to recent announcement by Intel, expect a $50 price drop in the netbooks. So, a $299 netbook will cost $249 (depending on the configuration).
So for $50, you get an Atom N450 processor that runs at 1.66GHz clock speed, NM10 southbridge, integrated graphics and memory controller and Condor Peak WLAN.

New Atom N450 to be released in January 2010 – $20 more than Atom N270
Graphics and chipset all in a tiny chip! This is what Atom N450 is all about which will hit the market on January 3rd 2010. Being priced at $64 at its launch, it will cost $20 more than the now aging Atom N270, but the money is worth it. Why? Because it includes a GPU too!
Netbook manufacturers are very much excited because it contains two chips in one design and is about the same size as N270 processor. Although there won’t be much improvement in battery life.
Intel also has plans to launch many new products along with launching the Atom N450 officially.

Intel: Goodbye Atom N270, Hello Atom N450!
Intel has taken the decision to stop selling Atom N270 in Q2 2010 as it will be launching its successor, the Atom N450 which will replace the aging N270.
It does not mean that you won’t be able to purchase a machine with N270 processor after Q2 2010 as some manufactures can stock these chips and later use them in their netbooks. So, you can get two line of Intel products at the same time!
