HP Slate is the HP's or shall we say, Microsoft’s answer to the Apple iSlate that will be revealed later this month. Being presented to the people as something that is more powerful than a phone and as powerful as a PC, this Slate from HP is perfect for reading and surfing the Internet.

The HP Slate comes with Windows 7 operating system, which comes with a pile of features meant for touchscreens. So using Windows 7 on a Slate Tablet should not be any issue. It supports multi-touch too. The Slate from HP comes with a variety of modes – Movie mode, eBook mode and PC mode.

Apple tablet to be unleashed at CES – has 7-inch display

According to businessinsider, Apple is preparing to show us all a new, larger mobile device sporting higher resolution than the iPhone and iPod Touch. This could be the Apple iTablet (or whatever it will be called), that we have been hearing from months.Apple is telling the developers to set their apps to support full resolution rather than just restricting to 320x480 which is the resolution of iPhone and iPod Touch.The recent rumor says that the display size of the upcoming tablet is 7-inches, not 10-inches that we have been hearing so far.It is pity that most of the netbook manufactures have left the 7-inch and 8.9-inch netbook market and Apple is going to unleash a device sporting 7-inch display.

MOD: Dell Mini 9 with Capacitive Touch Screen

Once again, some talented guy (gowtham) at mydellmini forum was able to mod his Dell mini 9 with a capacitive touch screen. Last time, when we mentioned the MOD, the hack was done with a resistive touch screen. The capacitive screen, which he got for $50 is working very fine under Ubuntu. The dude kept the hinges intact as he wanted to use them as stand.So far, he has been working diligently in order to get his screen working under the Moblin OS.We have seen people putting accelerometers and resistive touch screens into the small frame of Dell Mini 9 and now we have capacitive screen MOD which shows that it can give the upcoming iTablet very tough competition, especially when you takes its overall price into consideration: <$300. Can you beat that Apple? Of course, YOU (Apple) Cannot!

Apple is though trying its best to hide and secure the information of its upcoming new tablet, but they have not been able to hide that the cost of the 9.7-inch OLED display being produced by LG is very high, which is the core reason that is going to make the tablet too pricey for a normal consumer. This has forced LG to introduce some changes in the manufacturing process of OLED displays.It expected that, this tablet would range between $800 to $1,000 each.

There have been a lot of rumors about an upcoming Apple "iTablet." Just as this could be a success in the consumer market, it could be a huge bestseller in healthcare. Why?Well, a Mac Tablet would be the ultimate user interface for electronic medical records (EMR) software. With a touch-screen display like the iPhone, it could help physicians speed up normal EMR operations. For example, when physicians evaluate a patient's illness, they have to enter an evaluation and management (E&M) code into the EMR.
