Windows 7 already on sale at Sam’s club?
The US’ Sam Club has been spotted selling the Toshiba NB205 with OFFICIAL Windows 7 Starter Edition version (not BETA). The unit on sale has 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, Windows 7 Starter and has WiFi (b/g).
AIRIS Kira netbook lands in Spain, but without an Operating System
Airis Kira 700 netbook is now available in the Spain, but launched without an OS. But that has helped to hit the retail shops for as low as 299 Euros. It is a typical 10.2-inch netbook with 1024×600 resolution.

It is rated to give you upto 4.5 hours of battery life. What makes me feel weird is the fact that most of the manufactures are still sticking to the old Intel Atom N270 processor, which is so yester year. It is high time they upgrade themselves to Z530, Z540 or in worst case, N280
Sony Vaio TT lookalike – VAIC TT – Real Cheap!
Sony Vaio TT has been one of the most expensive and well-designed ultraportables so far. Although, Sony stopped selling it in the US few months back, you can get one from China real cheap. Well, not exactly the real one, but quite close. Meet VAIC TT. (note: it is VAIC, not VAIO). Slapped with a price tag of $294, its manufacture has really worked hard to make it look as much like the original VAIO TT. In fact, its style is so magnificent and clean that anybody can be easily fooled.
Some words about its specs:It has an 12.1-inch display with 1366 x 768 resolution. Unlike VAIO TT, it does not have a ULV processor. Instead, it has typical netbook-ish innards: Intel Atom N270, 160GB HDD, 1GB RAM and so on. Interestingly, it has built-in 3G module and a 6-cell 4400mAh battery. It weighs a modest 1.6 kg.
HP Mini 110-1012NR – Shipped at just $270
HP Mini 110-1012NR, a 10.1-inch netbook is now available at a super low price of $270. This unit has an Intel Atom processor and sport 3 hours battery life. It is also equipped with 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD and runs Windows XP.
Meet Zhongchi Zc-A80 – Rubberized netbook – made in China
The Zhongchi ZC-A80 netbook, as it name suggest comes from China. It is a typical 11-inch netbook, but has a rubberized case which will prevent it from slipping from your hands and can actually take few (light) bumps too.
What are its specifications? It comes with an 11.1-inch screen with 1366X768 pixel display, an Intel Atom N270 CPU with 1GB of RAM and 160GB HDD and packs 3 USB 2.0 ports. Monotonous specs, we already know.
Do not expect it make its way outside China as it is a local product.
ION-Powered 12-inch ASUS EEE PC 1201N Netbook coming soon
ASUS is very soon going to unveil its first ION-powered netbook, EEE PC 1201N in the month of October. Having an 12.1-inch display, this netbook is surely not going to be as compact as the current seashell line of netbooks by ASUS (read our EEE 1008HA seashell review). Packing a respectable 1366×768 resolution, it also has a GeForce 9400M G ION chipset coupled with an Intel Atom N270 processor (1.6GHz). It has 250GB HDD and 2GB RAM.
Along with standard radios (Bluetooth, WiFi-n), it is backed by a decent 6-cell 5200mAh battery that is rated to give you up to 11 hours of runtime. It will be bundled with the Windows 7 Home Premium OS and will be priced at $499
Averatec launches Buddy HS-102 in Korea
For those who do not know, Averatec is not a new company. They have rolled out few netbooks in the past. Now it has launched a new netbook, Buddy HS-102 in Korea. It comes with ho-hum specifications: 10.1-inch screen, an Intel Atom N270 (1.6GHz) (no idea why they did not go for Intel Atom N280 1.66GHz CPU), 1GB of RAM, 160GB HDD, WiFi and 1.3MP camera.
ASUS EEE 1005HA – How to upgrade the Hard Disk and RAM
The ASUS EEE 1005HA is a great looking and functional netbook. For some weird reason, ASUS decided not to make the hard disk user-replaceable. Although, unlike the EEE 1008HA, the upgrading the RAM is not a big deal, but upgrading the hard disk is not easy at all. It involves taking the keyboard out and unscrewing lots of screws.

ASUS Eee Box EB1012 – ION-powered dual core nettop
The very recent member of the Eee nettop family is the Eee Box EB1012 which resembles its other ‘family’ members in shape and size, but this small machine packs a bit more punch than its other siblings. Under its shell is a powerful dual core Intel Atom 330 CPU and NVIDIA ION graphics chipset. It’s so small and light as it measures just 8.7″ x 7″ x 1.1″ and weighs about 2.4 pounds (~1kg).
It comes with 2GB RAM (with support for 4GB RAM total capacity), 250GB HDD, WiFi (b/g/n), 6 USB ports, eSATA port, Ethernet and even packs in HDMI output!
