HP Mini 1000 Vivienne Tam Edition netbook cloned
The HP Mini 1000 Vivienne Tam Edition netbook, one of the most expensive netbooks on the market when it was launched late last year costed somewhere around $700. HP had a simple reason for such high price:Red color and floral pattern on the lid of designer Vivienne Tam.
Although HP is no longer selling the Mini 1000 and the Vivienne Tam Edition, but you can get a cheap clone of it that is made by Qifang Electronics. The main differences lies in a 2.5 inch hard drive instead of a 1.8 inch HDD, and the clone costs about $300, or less than half the MSRP of the original.

New Chrome OS screenshots – Look Legit
Although the first set of of “leaked” screenshots of Google Chrome OS were fake, but the Download Squad has a new crop of “leaked” shots which looked just a bit more convincing and fleshed out, rather than just a hastily re-worked Linux desktop.
And Notable points include a single icon for “My Hard Drive and Files” and a majorly overhauled Chrome browser, along with some “partner” icons in the lower right and a single connection indicator (and possible launcher?) in the lower left. Of course, these shots could also be a re-working of a Linux kernel and desktop — that’s all Chrome would really be, of course — and we’re fairly doubtful that they’re legit.

Price of Sony Vaio P slashed to mere $690 in Taiwan
We know that Sony does not consider Vaio P as a netbook because of its certain features like resolution display packed inside a small screen. But, still it is a netbook despite its outrageous price tag.
Sony Taiwan has recently slashed the prices of its VAIO P models from $1000 to $690, which does make it a little more affordable than before. The same model retails at $899.99 in the US, which comes with 1.3GHz Intel Atom Z520 CPU, 2GB of RAM, and a 60GB hard drive.

Dell Latitude 2100
Dell has launched Latitude 2100, a netbook targeted towards young students. Unlike Dell’s other netbooks (Mini 9 and Mini 10), the 2100′s shell is made from brightly colored, grippy rubber, not slippery plastic. There is a light on the lid of the netbook that tell the teachers if the student is connected to the Internet. Also, the keyboard is anti-microbial.
The new Dell Latitude 2100 range starts at $369, which is pretty decent price for what you get. True, it is not a $100 netbook, but then it is much, much more refined.
