Meet the MID 560 MID, which runs Android OS. It runs on a Samsung 6410 processor that runs a clock speed of 533MHz. It has a WVGA 5-inch touchscreen and built in mobile TV, GPS and a browser that is based on Google Chrome Lite browser. It has other basic apps like Google Talk, google mail, push gmail and basic RSS and email apps as well.

It also functions as a PMP. It supports MP3, WMA, AAC, OGG and many other audio formats. For videos, you get support for H.264-WVGA, H.263-WVGA, DivX4/5-WVGA and Xvid.

Dell to offer GPS and location features on their Dell Mini 10 netbook

GPS and location based features have gained immense popularity in the latest smartphones, but Dell thinks both of these should also be there in their netbooks and that is the reason Dell is now offering them on its Mini 10 netbook.All you have to do is to select "Dell Wireless 700 location solution" while customizing your Mini 10. According to Dell blogger, it will also come with turn-by-turn navigation, thanks to CoPilot navigation software."We're betting that location services will be a hit in netbooks," said Dell blogger Lionel Menchaca. "The Mini 10 is the first system that we'll offer with the optional Dell 700 Wireless location solution. Stay tuned for more details about more supported systems." It is functional only in Windows XP, Vista and upcoming Windows 7. It won't work in Linux OS.

CONFIRMED: Qualcomm will launch Smartbooks at the end of this year

Qualcomm has confirmed that they will be launching 'smartbooks' at the end of this year. Qualcomm will be using their fast Snapdragon processor in their smartbooks as-well-as in their upcoming mobile phones. Qualcomm is pretty sure that it will be able to sell 2.5 billion units by the end of year 2011.So what makes Smartbooks better than the existing cellphones and MIDs (Mobile Internet Devices)? Smartbooks will give you a very powerful smartphone in your hand and will come with both voice and data capabilities. Unlike netbooks and MIDs, the smartbooks can remain connected all the time. No need of shutting your device down or putting your device into hibernation. All that will all day battery-life and integrated GPS.Also, we are happy to know that smartbooks will cost less than the existing netbooks. This indicates that the smartbooks should cost less than $400. If they are able to do that, it will be a huge hit among the consumers.

OS X can now be installed in Sony Vaio P – WiFi, Ethernet does not work though

Although the self-proclaimed 'notebook', the Sony Vaio P runs Vista pretty poorly, but some crazy folks have installed Mac OS X on this little baby! They claim that the Mac runs faster than Vista. Unfortunately, they were not able to get the Wi-Fi, Ethernet and 3G working under OS x. Neither could 3D games or apps run due to missing video chip drivers.We suggest you keep an eye here as we will post all forthcoming updates regarding Mac OS on a VAIO P.

Year 2010 is surely going to be very exciting as we are going to see a slew of netbooks based on Android (mobile) OS. At first, we heard rumors that ASUS won't be able to get their Android Netbooks out this year. But it is pretty much confirmed that they will be launching an Android-based netbook at the end of this year.ASUS will be producing an Android netbook which won't have an Intel chip. Instead, it will come with a Snapdragon processor whose clock speed is mere 1 GHz. This new chip will include a all-band 3G radio. It will support 720p video too! Of course, it comes with WiFi and built-in GPS.
