Verizon Google Tablet?
We need not reiterate the same over and over again, but pardon us, if we repeat it again – iPad is a success and you know it, we know and the whole world knows it. They have sold a freaking 1 million of these nasty units already! Now, Verizon has a dream – a dream to beat those figures and that is why they are so engrossed in developing an iPad killer, thanks to Google.
There are not much details about this upcoming tablet, but chances are that it would use Android OS. However, as Google never seizes to amaze us, they may decide to make this tablet run their Chromium OS.
Google Chrome Netbook coming
Google is working with one hardware manufacture to build a Google branded netbook that will run the Chromium OS.
We applaud this decision by Google. Reason: OEMs are not able to get things quite right and we may not be able to get the experience the OS provider expected us to get.
We concur with techcrunch which is saying that the Chrome-powered by Google will most likely be powered by ARM processor. The reason is that it is much more power-frugal than the Atom processor and at the same time is able to run HD videos with no problem.
However, to get our hands on this chromium netbook, we will have to wait until X-Mas next year.

Google announces Google Chrome OS for Netbooks
Google Chome OS – not to confused with Google Android OS, has been announced by Google. According to Google, we have been using operating system that was not designed for “web browsing”. It sounds a bit bizarre as even then, the (awful) Internet Explorer was being bundled with every copy of Windows OS.
Google Chome is an open source and light-weight operating system that is designed to load within few seconds after you have pressed the power button. Google says that their upcoming OS is designed to run on both x86 as-well-as ARM chips. So expect to makes its debut on MIDs too along with netbooks.Google Chrome OS is using Linux kernel underneath and thus their OS is not prone to viruses and trojans.
Right now, over 30 million people are using Google Chome OS. Google is already in talks with computer manufactures. I am sure Chrome OS will be used as a supplementary OS by a lot of people in coming months, if not as main OS.
ASUS coming up with a Google Android netbook?
ASUS has already allocated a team of engineers to work upon an Android-based netbook and they will able to fully develop the Android-based netbook by the end of this year. It will be interesting to see the place for such a netbook, where 90% of the netbook market is using the old and trusty Windows XP as their OS. One reason that folks at ASUS may be looking upto the Android platform is the fact that it is free. Note, that even though Microsoft continues to offer the netbook manufactures Windows XP, but we cannot deny the fact it is not FREE like Android.
That said, I still believe that although the Android is meant for mobile phones. I do not underestimate Android, but if the netbook has the powerful hardware to run the full desktop OS like Windows XP/7 or Ubuntu, then why install it on a netbook. The only thing that should be bundled with every netbook is an instant on OS and I do believe that there are plenty of linux custom distros which offer full firefox even in the instant-on OS.
