ASUS S121 now official

ASUS has made the bigger brother of sleek and stylish EEE S101 now official. Oddly enough, it is not carrying the EEE brand.

Here are its specs:

• 12.1-inch display
• 1280 x 800 resolution
• Intel Atom Z520 1.33GHz processor
• 1GB RAM
• 250GB HDD
• 1.3MP webcam
• 3 USB ports
• 1.45kg
• 4-cell battery li-poly (3600mAh)

Intel Atom Z520 processor for such a premium laptop/netbook? Why ASUS, why?

Also, for the first time, ASUS is giving the user the option to opt for the Windows Vista (basic version). Do not get scared, XP version is still available.

Disk Performance comparison: EEE 1000HA V/S EEE 1000H V/S EEE S101

HDD performance of 1002HA is slightly better than 1000H. However, S101 nails both of them as it uses SSD.

Upgrading ASUS EEE S101′s RAM = Easy as Pie!

Just like the other EEE PCs, the RAM upgrade is easy as pie. Although, I should make it clear that there is no user-friendly way of upgrading the SSD.

Anyway, here are the steps on how to upgrade the RAM

1. Place the device upside down on the table.
2. Unscrew the two screws using Phillips screw driver. You will find the RAM to the left. Gently push the holders in opposite directions and pull the RAM out.

ASUS reduces the price of EEE S101 to just 499 euros

The price of ASUS’s flagship EEE model faces second price drop with now the price dropped to mere 499 euros. Although, it still may be a lot compared to the competition, but its super sleek looks makes up for the high price tag.

The price drops are not restricted to just S101. Even the 901 is down to 249 euros.

Acer Aspire D150 screen better than ASUS EEE S101? [Netbook]

We all know that there are no stock of Acer Aspire One available in the market. The reason behind this that ACER wants to make sure that all the top components are ready in this new model. In an interview with ACER’s chairman, he claims that that Acer Aspire D150′s screen is better than Asus S101′s. He says D150′s screen is more saturated and is brighter than S101′s screen.
