DDR2 will be supported in Intel Atom N47x and Atom N45x CPUs

Earlier we mentioned about for DDR3 RAM support only for these two atoms. Well, that does not mean that these new Atoms (N45x and N47x) won’t support DDR2. This new atom can work with both DDR2/DDR3 @ 667MHz clock.

The DDR3 also consumes less power; thus increasing the battery life by few percent.

Core i7 930 2.88GHz to come next year in Q1

Soon, Core i7 930 will be used instead of Core i7 920 and accordingly it will have higher clock speed. The Core i7 930 is based on Nehalem 45nm quad-core which runs @ 2.88GHz, a non-Extreme Edition CPU which run on socket LGA 1366.4.8GT/sec being the QPI speed, has 8MB of cache.

Besides, Turbo engine itself overclock it to 3.06GHz and the CPU supports DDR3 800 or 1066. It is to be launched next year middle of Q1, and expected to sell for $284.

The launch time is middle of Q1 2010 and we assume that it should be selling for , as this is the current price of its Core i7 920 2.66GHz predecessor.
