iTTD introduces two new CULV notebooks

As we can easily observe, now many big brands are rolling out CULV based notebooks. And now, its shanzhai players directed to the same route. iTTD has rolled out couple of CULV notebooks which will soon hit the (Chinese) market.

To start with, there is an 11.6-inch device equipped with single core Celeron 743 processor inside an ABS plastic shell with an Apple-like chiclet keyboard. It features 11.6-inch screen with 1366×768 display, has Celeron 743 CULV Processor, Intel GS45 + ICH9MS Chipset, integrated GMA X4500 Graphics, 2GB RAM and 250 GB hard disk. It comes with 3300mAh polymer battery.

The next one is a higher-end 13.3-inch notebook that is equipped with dual-core SU2300 processor and aluminum shell. This one features 13.3-inch display; 1280×800 resolution, Intel GS45 + ICH9MS Chipset, 1MB cache, integrated GMA X4500 Graphics, 2GB memory, 250GB hard disk and 4700mAh Lithium battery.

Nothing is yet known about its pricing.

Toshiba DynaBook MX review – MX/33 and MX/43

Toshiba DynaBook MX is a CULV netbook from Toshiba that is available in two variants: MX/33 and MX/43.

The MX/33 has an 11.6-inch screen and MX/43 has a 13.3-inch screen. Both have 1366×768 resolution. There is a nice texture on the lid of the netbook as-well-as on the palm rest area and touchpad. Weighing around 1.58kg, MX-33 is certainly not the lightest netbook out there, but it is not that heavy as it has a 11.6-inch display. MX-43, on the other hand, weighs 1.76kg, but then it has a bigger display than the former too.

LG launches 13-inch CULV notebook

LG launches 13-inch CULV notebook

LG has finally jumped into the arena of CULV notebooks. Its first thin-and-light CULV notebook is based on Intel’s SU7300 processor and is just 25mm thick. It weighs 1.89kg, but then it is not a netbook and much bigger frame than a conventional nebtook. It has 4GB of DDR2 RAM, Intel GMA 4500MHD graphics, 500GB hard drive and runs Windows 7 home premium.

It has a huge 8-cell battery, which LG claims will give you 10 hours of battery run time. Nothing is known about its pricing.

Dell 13z goes on sale in Australia – Expensive!

Dell has launched 13z in Australia for $1,112 (AU$1,199). This CULV notebook has 1.3GHz SU7300 Core 2 Duo processor with Intel integrated 4500MHD graphics, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, a 320GB drive, and an LED-backlit screen.

Gateway EC14

Gateway new CULV models – EC14, EC54 and EC58

Gateway has come up with thin-and-light EC Series of notebooks which are equipped with CULV processors. All of these CULV notebooks use Microsoft’s Windows 7 Home Premium operating system. EC14, EC54 and EC58 are the three model that are being launched where each is equipped with multi-gesture touchpad, GMA 4500MHD integrated graphics with HDMI output and a 6-cell battery. All the three are just an inch thick.

EC14 model has seven different versions with the choice of getting one with either Intel Celeron 743, SU2300 or Intel Pentium SU4100 processor. It measures 0.87/1.18″ x 11.22″ x 8.03″ (22.1/30 x 285 x 204mm) and has 11.6-inch LED-backlit display with1366 x 768 resolution. It has 3GB DDR2 667MHz memory and 320GB of hard drive.

There is a cheaper version of EC14, priced at $399.99 comes with Intel Celeron 743 CPU, 2GB of memory and a 250GB hard drive.

Both EC54 and the EC58 models feature a 15.6-inch, Ultrabright LED-backlit, 1366×768 screen and the same 1.01″-1.08″ x 14.85″ x 10″ (25.7/27.4 x 377.1 x 254mm) dimensions. The only distinguishing factor is the processor choice and storage capacity. EC54 model comes with Intel Pentium SU4100 processor and a 320GB hard drive and retails for $649.99. The EC58 model comes equipped with Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 and a 500GB hard drive and is priced at $799.99.

BenQ launches Joybook S35 and Joybook S43 – based on CULV platform

BenQ has launched two ultra-thin CULV notebooks, Joybook S35 and Joybook S43. The Joybook S35 has a 13.3-inch screen and weighs 1.6kg.

BenQ will be offering it with either an 8-cell battery (11 hours runtime) or with a smaller 4-cell battery (5.5 hours runtime).

The Joybook S35 packs some more muscle as you have the option to get one with Radeon HD 4330 discrete graphics. The S35 packs a bigger screen too: 14-inch. But, both the models sport same screen resolution and even the choice of processors is same. You can get one with Celeron 723/743 or with Core 2 Solo SU3500 processor.

Other standard features include HDMI, WiFi (draft-N) and BT 2.1+ EDR. One can also opt-in for a huge 500GB HDD.

Both of the aforementioned models are already being shipped in Asia, but it is not known if they will make their way to EU or US.

ASUS to Launch Ultra-thin CULV notebooks

ASUS is planning to launch new ultra-thin netbooks using Intel’s upcoming CULV processors on 7th September 2009. In first round, it will be shipping in Taiwan, China and Europe. The upcoming CULV notebooks are going to use Celeron 743 and SU2300 CPU, which cost $107 and $134 respectively. MSI and Acer are also going join the queue by announcing their new ultra-thin notebooks soon after.
