Radeon HD 5970 dual-GPU to be rolled out on 18th of November

The Radeon HD 5970, to be launch on November 18, is undoubtedly the fastest card. ATI / AMD has defined its specs, it has  two RV870 GPUs runs @ 725MHz. The Radeon HD 5970 has 3200 shaders and comes with 2GB GDDR5 RAM. The Maximum Board Power reaches to 294W and 4.64 TFLOPs is the total GPU compute performance for the card. A great competitor for Geforce GTX 295.

HP Pavilion dm1 CULV soon to make its debut

Attractive, affordable and stylish: These are the words that best describe the HP Pavilion dm1 CULV notebook/netbook. It is an 11.6-inch ultraportable based on Intel CULV chips and will soon be launched by HP. Nothing with surety can be said about its specs but one version will be based Intel’s cheapest dual-core low voltage CPU, the 1.2GHz SU2300 and will ship in couple of SKUs, with either 2GB or 3GB of memory and 250GB or 320GB of hard disk. Prices start at €450.

It will have HDMI out, 3 USB ports, WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth, 289 x 204 x 19,8 – 30, 6mm body, 1.39kg weight and has 6-cell battery. Clearly, it is a direct competitor to the immensely popular TimeLine 1410/1810T (read its review)

Acer soon to become market leader in notebooks and will leave HP behind

Acer can very soon become the leader in the global consumer notebook market (in the third quarter of 2009). This means that it has the potential to surpass HP in notebook shipments over the next few months.

The shipment gaps are reducing slowly and gradually. HP shipped around 4.86 million consumer notebooks in the second quarter with Acer is somewhere close at 4.75 million units. Acer is steadily growing and strengthening its root in the market. But, on the other hand, HP is still a very strong competitor to beat and Acer is trying its level best to boost its sales through its thin-and-light Timeline and Travelmate series.

Commentary: Acer is already the top netbook marker and we are very sure that netbooks have played a strong role in making Acer the market leader in notebooks.
