New ION powered fanless ION nettop powered by Myka has been launched. This ION nettop brings HUlu, Boxee content to your TV. Powered by a dual-core Atom 330 processors and ION chipset, you should have no problems in getting those HD videos to work flawlessly on your nettop.

Comes with 4GB memory, 10 USB 2.0 ports, VGA / DVI / HDMI outputs, eSATA and LAN port. Prices starts at $379. Black and White are the colors available. You can order it from Myka and it will take a month or less for delivery.

NEC LaVie M – CULV netbook with Celeron SU2300

LaVie M is the new CULV netbook from NEC. It uses CULV Celeron SU2300 processor that runs at a clock speed of 1.2GHz. It weighs 1.59kg and has a battery life of about 4 hours on a single charge.

Unlike netbooks, it has ‘huge’ 320GB hard disk and runs Windows 7 Home Premium OS. It has a 13.3-inch display with 1366×768 resolution.

Dell teams up with OPI – brings fancy colors to the Dell Minis

Dell has teamed up with a company called OPI to bring colorful and funky design to the various Dell notebooks and netbooks. The colors have pretty funny name likes “I’m Not Really a Waitress,” “Big Apple Red,” “Strawberry Margarita,” “Rosy Future” and “Kyoto Pearl. The Dell will be offering even more colors and will also revise the colors based on the colors that are most popular.

“Dell and OPI’s offerings are a fresh collision of style and power, color and technology,” said Rachna Bhasin, general manager, partnerships and personalization or global consumer. “OPI’s high style and Dell’s award-winning technology combine to offer people stylish options that deliver the ultimate combination of color and connectivity on the go.”

Remember the Rockchip MID that we mentioned last month? Well, some more interesting details have cropped up. It has a WVGA (800×480) capacitive display with a 4.8-inch screen slapped on it. Earlier, all we knew was was that it runs 600MHz processor, but its processor information was not known. Well, now we know it and it Rockchip’s RK2808 processor. For storage, one can choose between 8GB or 16GB flash based storage. It can run 720p video just fine, although how many such movies that you can squeeze into 8GB storage memory is a question that needs to be answered.

It has Wifi, built-in 3G which ensure that you are connected wherever you go. It has even has Adobe Flash support for that rich Internet experience on-the-go. It will be available in variety of colors: Orange, Green, Pink, White and Black

Priced attractively at $190 and $230 for the 8GB and 16GB models respectively, it is actually not a bad deal at all.

Medion is one of the participants of the IFA 2009, where they have unveiled a slew of netbooks including Akoya Mini E1315 which a netbook with touchscreen display. There is another netbook that Medion launched, Akoya Mini E1217. The E1217 is a ultra-slim netbook which features an 10-inch display. The company promises to deliver the same model with 11.6-inch display. It will be based on the Intel Pine Trail (PineView) platform, which is the successor of the Intel Atom platform.

Like the majority of the modern netbooks, this one does NOT have a built-in 3G module. However, Medion (again) promises to launch one with built-in 3G modem.

It will be available in black and white colors. The Mini E1217 is scheduled to be released in January, 2010. No information on its price

We mentioned about the Viewsonic VNB101 netbook in the month of July. This machine is soon going to be there in Australia next month.

The VNB101 boasts of these specs – Intel Atom N280 CPU, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, 10.2-inch display, 0.3 webcam, memory card reader, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 2 USB ports and a Li-Polymer battery.

This one is quite sleek as it is just 25.4mm thick. What is the point of being so thin when it is able to give you mere 2.5 hours of battery life? It will be available in 3 colors: Black, Champagne and Red.

ViewSonic launches two new Netbooks – VNB100 and VNB101

ViewSonic, popular for its monitors has introduced new two netbooks – VNB100 and VNB101. Both netbook are very different in term of design. The VNB100 is available in a variety of colors like – black, white, yellow, and hot lady color, pink. The VBN101 will available in black, red and champagne and will carry a special coating that protects it from spills and wear and tear.

VNB100 will come with an 10.2-inch screen, an Intel Atom N270, 1GB of RAM, 160GB HDD, 1.3MP webcam, WiFi, 3 USB ports and ExpressCard 34 slot. The VNB101 will be a little more costly than VNB100 because of its luxury netbook feel (like ASUS EEE S101). The VNB101 boasts of these specs – Intel Atom N280 CPU, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, 10.2-inch display, 0.3 webcam, memory card reader, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 2 USB ports and a Li-Polymer battery. Both of these netbooks will be launched at the end of this month in Asia-Pacific region and later this year in the European market with price tag of £256 for the VNB100 and £293 for the VNB101.

Toshiba is now offering its NB200 in two new colors: pink and blue. There is no change in specs for the pink and blue model. The NB200 in new colors is expected to carry a price tag of around £310.

Virgin Media launches “Freedom Netbook”

A lot of cellphone providers have started offering “connected” netbooks with build-in 3G or mobile broadband these days. Now, the Virgin Media is now offering “Freedom Netbook”, which is basically just like many other netbooks that you are familiar with. It comes with an Atom N270 processor, 1GB RAM, Windows XP OS, 120GB (not 160GB) hard disk.

Unfortunately, the “Freedom Netbook” comes with a 3-cell battery which should just last you around 2-2.5 hours with active use. Weighing at just 1.1kg, it comes in 2 colors: “Virgin red” or black and is bundled with “Virgin Media” wallpaper and screensaver.

The Virgin Media’s netboook is available for free on a 2 year contract. On a side note, they have also slashed the price of their 50MBps data plan to 38 pounds from 50 pounds.
