Most reasonable Netbooks from China with Windows XP
Now and then, we keep hearing about the cheap Chinese netbooks that cost around USD 130-150. However, most of them, if not all have compromising specs. Most of those netbooks have small screens and are not x86-based which means that you cannot run Windows XP. They generally come with ARM processors that mostly run Android or Windows CE as OS. Well, here we have two netbooks that come with Windows XP pre-installed and have typical 10.1-inch screen size. Surprisingly, they costs $20-30 more than non-x86 netbooks.
AOJIE is the brand name and their netbook, the X100V is based on VIA C7-M processor that runs @ 1.6GHz and comes with VIA Chrome9 HC3 graphic chipset, being available for just USD 146. Its second version, the X100A has Intel Atom N270 chip that runs @ 1.6GHz and comes with Intel IGP graphic chipset. It is priced for USD 160. Certainly, this is a much better deal as Atom 270 is much more powerful and at the same time, more efficient than the former.
The devices are targeted at the large (and very price sensitive) student segment, and the company reports that it is currently working with education organizations to bundle free education software with the products.
