6-cell battery for HP 2140 –a must have!

One fellow member at myhpmini forums has bought a 6-cell battery for his HP mini 2140 off ebay and he has been able to get pretty decent battery life from it. He used USB mobile broadband card in 2140 all the time and kept his netbook in  power saving mode to get nearly 5-6 hours of battery life from it. No doubt, he recommends the 6-cell battery to everyone.

It makes me wonder why some manufactures are still shipping netbooks with 3-cell batteries which are not able to give you more than 2 hours of active usage. My EEE 1000H came with a 6-cell 6600mAh battery and I am able to get nearly 5.5 hours in Vista with mobile broadband on at all the time.

Toshiba NB205 now available for order

Toshiba has finally made the NB205 for order with the choice of four colors. This new Toshiba will cost you $399. Obviously, you will get the Toshiba’s high chassis quality and chiclet keyboard similar to the keyboard found on new VAIOs and Macbooks.

It comes with Atom N280 processor, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD and 10.1-inch display. Its 6-cell battery claims to give the user 9 hours of use!

It is a great to know that Toshiba went for N280 processor and not Z520 processor, which sometimes chokes even while running XP!

HP Mini 110 now available on HP online store

HP is now offering 110 at its online store. The price start at $279 for the Linux edition and $329 for the XP version. For the XP version, you can choose between 16GB/32GB SSD or 160GB HDD whereas in Linux version, there are even more choices: 160GB/250GB HDD or 8GB/16GB/32GB/64GB SSD.

Acer Aspire One D250 launched in Asia

Acer Aspire D250 is now on sale in Asia with a suggested price of 23,995 Pesos ($507) in Philippines. This new Aspire One is not much different from the Aspire One D150, which was launched a couple of months ago. The only difference is the use of N280 processor in D250, whereas the D150 used N270 processor.
