Bad News for UK visitors: No HP Mini 2140 HD for UK
HP Mini 2140 is a great netbook, but suffers from low (vertical) resolution problem. A lot of times, dialog boxes of XP are not able to fit as there are only 576 pixels vertically. To address this problem, HP announced HD version of the 2140 which would come with much higher resolution, 1366 x 768. Although, HP plans to launch it in most of the countries, it won’t be launched in UK.
Fortunately, there are a lot of options for the netbooks buyers. If you plan to do only web-surfing and some office work, then I will recommend you to give a try to Acer Aspire 751H, which comes with an 11.6-inch display and fantastic resolution of 1366 x 768. You can read its review here

Microsoft and Intel to limit netbook screen size to 10-inch for Windows 7
Both Microsoft and Intel have decided to put a limit on the screen size for netbooks that would be running Windows 7 OS. It will be decreased from 12-inch to 10-inch now. According Taiwan based notebook makers, it had a negative impact on the VIA technologies.
This is also a BIG BAD NEWS for the netbook manufactures: There won’t be any netbooks running Windows 7 that will have 11.6-inch screen size.
Believe it or not, we all saw this coming. The netbook manufactures were getting a little out of control and had started releasing almost notebook-sized netbooks. Somebody had to put a limit over the screen-size and there is no one better than Microsoft for this job!
