Averatec N1200 reviewed – poor battery life

Averatec N1200 netbook from Trigem is a decent 10.1-inch netbook that sports sharp edges that gives a nice professional look. Folks at laptopmag have done a thorough review of it and they were pretty impressed with almost every aspect of it, except that it has ridiculously low runtime of 2.5 hours. Well, what more do you expect from the a 2-cell 3200mAh battery. Fortunately, there will be another version of the same netbook that will come equipped with a bigger 6-cell battery which will make its debut in the month of April (2010).

Priced at $300, it is powered by the Atom N450 1.66GHz processor, 10.1-inch display, 1024×600 resolution, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD and runs Windows 7 Starter OS.

Averatec launches Buddy HS-102 in Korea

For those who do not know, Averatec is not a new company. They have rolled out few netbooks in the past. Now it has launched a new netbook, Buddy HS-102 in Korea. It comes with ho-hum specifications: 10.1-inch screen, an Intel Atom N270 (1.6GHz) (no idea why they did not go for Intel Atom N280 1.66GHz CPU), 1GB of RAM, 160GB HDD, WiFi and 1.3MP camera.

Averatec to enter Netbook Market

Averatec is planning to make an entry into the netbook market in the near future. It is a well known fact that Averatec is quite popular for its ultra portables. The CEO of Averatec agrees as much as we do

“The netbook and ultra-portable lines are quite blurred and we want to bridge that gap.”

Averatec’s first netbook will be launched in the latter part of this year.
