Atom Z515-equipped Archos 9 Tablet now available

Archos has made the slightly more powerful version of its 9-inch tablet now official. It is good to see that price is something that has not undergone any change and is still available at $549. Here is a rundown of its specifications:

  • 8.9-inch display, 1024×600 resolution
  • 60GB hard disk (1.8-inch)
  • 1GB RAM
  • 1.2GHz Atom Z515 processor
  • Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 1.3MP webcam

The Atom Z515 supports hyper threading and for those who don’t know, the Atom Z510 processor which used to power this tablet did not support it. That said, the performance is lusterless as upgrade to Atom Z515 is no way making this tablet a usable machine. Call us parasitic troglodytes, but even the old Atom N270 can outperform Atom Z515
