10500 mAh battery review for ASUS EEE 1000HE
aer1288 of eeeuser got himself a mammoth size 10500 mAh battery for his ASUS EEE 1000HE. The EEE 1000HE comes with 8700mAh battery which is able to give easily 6h+ battery life. In the pictures, however, he has shown the 10500 mAh battery sitting with the 6600mAh battery since he had an EEE 1000HAB which is basically an EEE 1000HE with lower capacity 6-cell battery.
The protrusion is worth it the extra weight added since you will easily be able to run continuously for a loooong time.

ASUS Eee Keyboard to finally coming to Europe in October – Retail price 499 Euros = Too Expensive for an Atom-powered device!
After delaying it so many times, ASUS Eee Keyboard will finally ship to Europe at the end of October for 499 Euros. The unique ASUS Eee Keyboard is essentially a netbook wrapped and packed into a keyboard chassis and with a small WVGA touchscreen display. It comes with an Atom N270 Processor, VGA and HDMI out. For storage, you get a tiny 16GB SSD.
It also has3 USB 2.0 ports, WiFi and Bluetooth and it runs Windows XP Home. Its dimension are 145 x 425 x 24.4 mm and weighs 1.1 kg. ASUS claims that it would be able to give you nearly 4 hours of battery life which is commendable considering how tiny this thing is! The keyboard has backlight and you will have no problems working on it in the dark.
The only thing not to like about the EEE keyboard is the fact that it costs way too much for an Atom-powered device. If the ASUS can bring the price down to something like 399 Euros, it will make it very tempting for the normal consumer.

ASUS EEE 1008HA’s keys makes a lot of NOISE while typing! – Not recommended for people who type a lot
Yesterday, we posted unboxing pictures of the ASUS EEE 1008HA. We were very pleased with the overall design. But, we did not talk about the keyboard in that post.
The ASUS has come up with a totally new keyboard, which has not been used in any of the previous generations. The keyboard is not chiclet-type, like the one found in the EEE 1000HE (reviewed here). That said, the keyboard won our hearts design-wise! It has full size right shift key and the keys look pretty much full-laptop sized.
But, the moment you start typing on it, you will also start hearing (irritating) noise produced by the keys. This is not an indication for good build quality for sure. Note that we were not hammering the keys. We have used all sorts of netbooks so far. Till now, the best keyboard we’ve used is the one found on the ACER ASPIRE D250 (which is same as D150 (review), but with N280 CPU).
NOTE: This post was made on the EEE 1008HA whose keys made a lot of noise while typing

Trackball Mod for an EEE PC
A modder over Plasti-bots has been able to integrate a trackball into the body of his ASUS EEE 901 netbook. He used the trackball from the Apple’s mighty mouse and soldered it onto the motherboard of the EEE 901.
The Apple Mighty Mouse uses a built-in driver from Win XP. From the trackball standpoint, the driver provides the ability to scroll vertically (95% of what I was looking for). However, it does not provide horizontal scrolling
