ASUS EEE T91 user manual
User manuals are great for knowing about the features and functions about a device . We have just found out that ASUS has made its manual online and is available for download.
By looking through its manual, we were able to learn about the new ASUS utility: EEE Docking Touch Tool Bar, which is used to give the user access to frequently used functions.
Another interesting utility that we came across was the Touch Gate utility, which lets you do some basic functions like opening applications stored on your EEE in a very finger friendly manner.

Bangu Baijian introduces convertible netbook – bigger version of EEE T91
Bangu Baijian has unveiled convertible netbook that comes with a touchscreen display. This unit will be launched in US with a reasonable price of about $440. It has 10.2-inch display which is commonly found in an average netbook. It comes with the (very) familiar 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU, 1GB of RAM and a 160GB HDD. It sports 2 USB ports, a VGA ports, SDHC card reader and an Ethernet jack as-well-as 802.11b/g WiFi. You can get one with Bluetooth too.
Specs-wise and features-wise, this Bangu Baijian convertible netbook looks very familiar to the ASUS EEE T91, which sports an 8.9-inch display instead of 10.2-inch display. However, ASUS has done a great job of adding useful utilities to utilize the touchscreen feature. We are right now not aware of any such (useful) utilities for the Bangu netbook

ASUS EEE PC T91 product page now online
ASUS has made the product page of its first EEE tablet, the T91 now online. The T91 comes with a Windows XP OS. ASUS has done a great a terrific job in making the interface as finger-friendly as possible.
Commentary: We would like to reiterate the fact that companies should sell their products with user-replaceable battery. This is important for the end-user as he won’t have to send the unit back to the customer service just to get the battery replaced. He can order the battery online and can easily replace it himself. Another advantage of user-replaceable battery is that it opens the option to get extended-battery, which can increase the runtimes
ASUS EEE T91 drivers now online
ASUS has made available the drivers of EEE T91 online although it is yet to hit the local stores.
Also, it looks like Linux version may also be coming since it asks you to select the OS (between Linux and Windows), when you first visit the support page. That said, there is only a single Linux utility available for download.
Asus EEE T91 supports Multi-Touch, but with Windows 7 only!
There is some (exciting) news about the recently unveiled ASUS EEE T91: It supports multi-touch! EEE-PC.de (german) were able to get their hands on the ASUS EEE T91, which was running Windows 7. They confirmed that it was able to recognize multi-touch. See the following video, which clearly shows that EEE T91 supports multi-touch

ASUS EEE T91 officially unveiled!
Asus has finally unveiled its first tablet EEE PC, the T91, which is equipped with an 8.9-inch display with 1024 x 600 resolution. Since it is a tablet, the display swivels around and can then be used in tablet mode. The ASUS has bundled several applications to make the touch experience better for the end user. ASUS calls these applications together as “TouchSuit”.
Here are some applications that are bundled with the TouchSuit:
- FotoFun: This is for managing and editing pictures
- Memos: This is for jotting down handwritten notes that can be stuck on the desktop
- Touch Gate: This lets you switch between different interfaces on the fly (XP Mode, Widget Mode and Touch Mode)
- IE Toolbar: This toolbar allows you to easily zoom in/out of web pages using your finger
It weighs just 0.96kg, which is pretty light for a tablet netbook. However, the only thing not to like about it is the non-user replaceable battery.

ASUS EEE T91 has a non-replaceable battery – Why ASUS, why?
The term “Non-removable battery” is quite often used in case of Apple products, but looks like ASUS has started following their path too. After using internal battery in ASUS EEE 1008HA, ASUS has decided to do the same in EEE T91 tablet.
Removable battery makes so many things simple for the end-user like:
- He need not go for the expensive official battery after the battery worns off after an year or so
- He won’t have to go to service center just to get the battery replaced
- He cannot carry extra-batteries for those long trips
- He can use extended batteries
Commentary: Naturally, a lot of people, who were very interested in the T91 have become very annoyed due to fact that T91 does not comes with a removable battery. Not a lot of people wish to spend $150+ on a battery alone. Most of the third party batteries are sold under $60, which are well in-reach of a normal consumer. ASUS needs to understand that fact soon, otherwise they will loose a lot of potential customers.
ASUS Eee PC T91 launch date for UK revealed
