Asus’ EeePC S101 clone named “Colorful S101 NewYork” has G-sensor! – useless addon

An oddly named netbook, “Colorful S101 NewYork” netbook has been unveiled by Shenzhen-based company called Seethru. This netbook resembles Asus EeePC S101 a lot. And not to forget, it has a useless G-sensor which can cause damage to the computer’s hard drive.

Talking about its specs, its has an 10.1-inch 1024×600 LED-backlit display, Intel Atom N270 processor @ 1.6GHZ, 160GB Hard disk,1GB RAM, Wi-Fi b/g and 3 USB 2.0 ports. Priced about $320.

Huawei unveils its own 10-inch netbook! – Looks a lot like EEE S101

Huawei is showing-off their 10-inch netbook, which looks a lot like the ASUS EEE PC S101. It has pretty much standard netbook specs except for that the fact that it comes with built-in UMTS modem. Let’s take a quite glance at its specifications.

• Intel Atom N270/N280
• 1GB RAM
• 160GB HDD
• 10-inch display
• Integrated UMTS modem

There is no information about its release and price as yet. Sadly, this netbook also suffers from ‘small right shift key’ problem.

Upgrading ASUS EEE S101′s RAM = Easy as Pie!

Just like the other EEE PCs, the RAM upgrade is easy as pie. Although, I should make it clear that there is no user-friendly way of upgrading the SSD.

Anyway, here are the steps on how to upgrade the RAM

1. Place the device upside down on the table.
2. Unscrew the two screws using Phillips screw driver. You will find the RAM to the left. Gently push the holders in opposite directions and pull the RAM out.
