10500 mAh battery review for ASUS EEE 1000HE
aer1288 of eeeuser got himself a mammoth size 10500 mAh battery for his ASUS EEE 1000HE. The EEE 1000HE comes with 8700mAh battery which is able to give easily 6h+ battery life. In the pictures, however, he has shown the 10500 mAh battery sitting with the 6600mAh battery since he had an EEE 1000HAB which is basically an EEE 1000HE with lower capacity 6-cell battery.
The protrusion is worth it the extra weight added since you will easily be able to run continuously for a loooong time.

HARD FACT: Windows XP is still best for netbooks in terms of performance – Windows 7 vs Windows XP

ASUS EEE 1008HA final thoughts
We have done plenty of tests on the EEE 1008HA and have played a lot with it from the past couple of days. So, do we recommend buying it? You will be able make your decision for sure after reading this post for sure.
We have tested and reviewed a lot of netbooks so far. However, EEE 1008HA is pretty different from the all the EEE PCs that have been released so far. Here are few points what make it different from the rest of the ASUS netbooks:
- It is hands down the most attractive EEE PC made till date
- It is very slim, which makes it easier to carry around
- Even though it comes with an 10-inch display, it is much shorter in height than the EEE 1000HE and EEE 1000H.
- It has a built-in battery. Most of the EEE PCs come with user-replaceable battery.
- That said, it still manages to provide us with great battery life (see this post for more information)
- Although its keys make a lot of noise while typing, it still has the best keyboard we have seen in ASUS netbooks.
- We absolutely hate carrying the VGA dongle. If you plan to connect your netbook to big screens and projectors, look out for some other netbook with built-in VGA output port

Asus EEE PC 1000HE Keyboard Skin
EEE PC 1000HE has a chiclet-style keyboard that has fairly large spaces between the keys. A forum member at eeeuser forum has made a template skin for the EEE PC 1000HE. It is a an easy to dress up your EEE 1000HE.
Asus Eee PC 1000HV does 720p video fine, but not 1080p
The Folks at eeepc.it were able to get their hands on the EEE 1000hv, which is basically an EEE 1000HE with ATi 3450HD GPU. With ATi GPU, the first thing that comes to mind is: performing a video test to test its video capabilities. So, they tested two videos: one 720p and other 1080p on the ASUS EEE PC 1000HV. 720p video played just fine on the EEE 1000HV, but it 1080p video suffered from sound lag.
TIP: Improve WiFi performance on your EEE 1000HE by installing WiFi drivers of 1005HA
ASUS has made the drivers available for the EEE 1005HA and it seems that after installing the WiFi drivers of 1005HA on the EEE 1000HE, the WiFi performance has improved a lot. Some of the users were complaining about the occasional disconnections and the new Atheros WiFi driver has solved that problem.
