C3 stepping Phenoms started shipping

AMD has started shipping C3 stepping Phenom II processors. With no change in TDP ratings, but the new stepping will allow for some lower operating voltages and power consumption. Both new Phenom II 945 and 955 Black Edition are still rated at 95W and 125W respectively. AMD already decreased the TDP in Phenom II CPUs previous revision. The price is same as that of C2 versions, which is around €120 for the 945 and €130 for the 955 BE.Before AMD’s transition into 32nm, Stepping 3 would be the last revision.

Fudzilla interviewed AMD Product Manager Dave Baumann, in which he confessed that the outfit was facing serious shortages of all HD 5000 series product. He also added that there were certain problems in production with TSMC and was not in control by AMD. The production will surely take new turn in next few weeks. He also committed to increase its delivery to the fullest. The manager further said that, company is still on track to introduce Redwood and Cedar products in Q1 2010.

After netbooks, it is now turn for the phones to get equipped with XP.Meet the phone powered by AMD Super Mobile CPU. It has GSM, GPRS, EDGE and 3G too. For storage, you can get upto 64GB of SSD storage which would certainly make the current iPhone 3GS owners a bit angry. You can get 1GB RAM (512MB version is available)Compared to the fruit-phone, it has bigger display (4.8-inch) which means that it can easily be used as a MID. You get built-in WiFi and WiMax too. GPS is there too so that you don't get lost.Commentary: ARM Cortex, the CPU that is being used in iPhone and iPod Touch is, as its name implies, ARM based. Naturally, it is not x86 and thus cannot run Windows OS. However, AMD Super Mobile CPU is fully x86 compatible and runs Windows XP OS without a hitch!
