AMD Ontario targeted at netbooks
AMD has released Q2 2010 financial results which reveal that the company revenues showed a jump of 5-percent compared to the Q1 2010. AMD also reported a loss of 43 million dollars. Nevertheless, this quarter did not produce shabby figures.
AMD also revealed few more details about the Ontario platform:
1) It will be manufactured using 40nm process
2) Targeted towards netbooks
3) Tablet manufactures CANNOT use it
4) Cheapest of Fusion range
5) Will be launched before Q4 2010
6) Performance will be at par with the low-end notebook processor (ULV)
7) Ontario is the AMD’s take at the Intel Atom processor
AMD Vision trailer
AMD has launched a new trailer for its Vision processor at the Cannes. AMD is advertising Vision processor for long battery life and better thermals.
For those who do not know, Asus has already launched a Vision-powered laptop. Any guesses?

MSI Wind U230 now official
MSI after launching MSI Xslim X430, here comes another AMD-powered notebook, well actually a netbook.
The Wind U230 is powered by dual-core Athlon L335 processor and AMD RS780MN + SB710 chipset with Radeon HD3200 graphics. It has 12-inch display with 1366×768 resolution, 4GB RAM and 320GB HDD. It resembles much like plain U200/210 and has same ports. It also has Wi-Fi b/g and optional Bluetooth radio. It comes with either 3-cell or 6-cell battery and weighs 1.3 kg. Nothing is known about its pricing and availability.
Commentary: Finally, after making its appearance on its official website few days back, MSI has official launched this AMD-powered beauty. This netbook is, undoubtedly, one of the most powered netbooks launched till now as it comes with a dual core AMD processor and dedicated GPU. Not to mention the inclusion of 4GB RAM and huge 320GB HDD space.

Acer India launches Gateway LT3111
Acer has launched Gateway LT31 in India for under $500 (Rs 24607) which is good price for what you are getting in this netbook. This netbooks runs on AMD Athlon 64 single-core processor which is still not-so-common in netbooks.
