Dell Mini 10v clone – packs bigger display

Here is a Chinese clone of Dell Mini 10V (1012) netbook that comes with a good ‘ol Atom N270 processor. But, it does packs a HD display (1366×768) and that mean it does have something to ponder on. The netbook is bigger than the original and reason of boasting a bigger frame is its 11.6-inch display.

Other specs include Intel 945GSE chipset, 1GB DDR2 RAM, 160GB HDD, GMA 950 graphics and 1.3MP webcam. The netbook features a 3-cell 2400mAh battery, 3G SIM slot, LAN, BT and 2x USB ports. It also offers a less stressful keyboard.

Acer unleashes 11.6-inch TimelineX notebook

Acer has officially launched its first 11.6-inch notebook, or shall we say netbook. Acer has equipped this new TimelineX model with a 1.07GHz Intel Core i5 U50 CPU instead of Atom or CULV chips that we are more used to. Battery Life is still spectacular at 8 hours from its 6-cell battery. This model also has HDMI and VGA port built-in along with 3 USB 2.0 ports.

As mentioned earlier, the screen size is 11.6-inches and just like rest of the Acer’s 11.6-inch netbook/notebook offering, you get the usual 1366×768 pixel display.

Note – Although the clock frequency of this model is less than the Atom processors, it packs much more muscle.

Com unveils 11.6-inch CULV netbook

Com has launched a new ULV netbook based on the Celeron SU2300 processor (1.2GHz), the CZ102IW. Sporting an 11.6-inch display with 1366×768 resolution, this Com netbook comes with a huge 320GB HDD and 2GB RAM.

Other specifications are standard: Intel GS45 chipset, 3 USB 2.0 ports, WiFI b/g, Ethernet, mini D-Sub, 1.3MP webcam, multi-card reader. Weighs about 1.4kg. Unlike the recent netbooks that come with Windows 7 Starter, it runs Home Premium version of Windows 7 which means you can enjoy Aero in its full glory. Oh, and it comes with a chiclet keyboard with full size right shift key (deserves a mention).

Costs $540 (49800 yen), a bit too expensive for a Celeron CULV processor-equipped netbook, but we loved its ostentatious design for sure.
