Samsung Galaxy 8.9 gets released in Best Buy today. Galaxy Tab 8.9 is known to be the thinnest Tab with width of only 0.34 inches. 8.9 inch WXGA display provides nice 1280 × 800 pixel resolution.

It runs Android 3.1 Honeycomb operating system, which is more than sufficient for tablet of this size. Dual core 1GHz processor should work out all its obstacles to deliver, but regrettably, Galaxy tab fans, having high hopes for TouchWiz update, reported major slowdown in operating speed.

Samsung Galaxy 8.9 Tab has 2 cameras. Fron facing 2MP and rear facing 3MP with flash. Tablet supports 1080p video and has usual WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. There are many apps integrated within this Samsung tablet including Google Talk and Maps, Adobe Flash, Voice Search and Android Market to access more apps. It also has Social hub, Media and Music hub.

Samsung Galaxy 8.9 Tab 16GB model will set you back by $469.99. You can choose to get 32GB model for $100 more.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is already available starting at $499 for WiFi model with 16GB of storage.

Edit: We have just been notified. Best Buy has delayed its launch of Samsung Galaxy 8.9 Tab until September 27th.
