Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 – Preview
According to leaked internal memos, Lenovo is about to unveil the ThinkPad Tablet 2, targeted at mobile corporate professional, and slated for release on October 26.
The Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 will boast a dual-core Intel Clover Trail CPU with an integrated HD SGX545 graphics processor. The business tablet offers a 10.1-inch matte IPS display for all-round viewing angles with 1366 x 768 pixels of screen real estate. The display supports 10-finger multi-touch gestures, for the virtuoso pianists amongst the office crowd, and there’s digitizer pen support for jotting down mission-critical missives on the move.
Amongst the other internals are 2GB of DDR2 RAM and 64GB of flash storage space. Connectivity comes via WiFi-n and Bluetooth 4.0, which are standard for tablets nowadays, but for anywhere-online support an LTE/HSPA+ module is fitted. Keeping up the theme of full-featured-ness, the Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 sports a docking connector for those times when only a physical keyboard will do, which is pretty much the entire working day, lunch-time surfing break excluded.
The 2MP front-facing webcam should ensure corporate standard web-calling, while the 8MP rear sensor can be used to capture snaps on your travels to far-flung corners of the globe in pursuit of untold riches. Oh and yes, launching on October 26, we’d be very surprised if the ThinkPad Tablet 2 was running anything other than Windows 8.
