HP TouchPad Gets OS Update
The HP TouchPad has been gifted a whole bunch of tweaks and improvements thanks to an update to webOS 3.0.5. Officially it’s only a minor update but every little helps, and it’s reassuring to see HP continuing to support the discontinued tablet and its WebOS environment, which was threatened with catastrophe before HP made it open source.
HP TouchPad new update offers a smattering of additional features and a few bug fixes, with new support for HTTP live streaming, faster calendar switching, and enhanced stability for video and MP3 file formats.
Reading emails now delivers faster scrolling, and attachments are now saved with drafts. There are now also IM alerts in email. These are really only tweaks, but we did warn you. The new update brings a quicker set-up for video calls, and a view of available contacts while video conferencing.
Amongst the other enhancements of HP TouchPad are new indicators for poor connectivity while streaming vids, double-tapping the space bar to insert a period, the disable auto-correct from the onscreen keyboard, and so on.
