HP Slate 2
HP was widely expected to invest into WebOS for their TouchPad, but instead they turned into Windows. HP choose Windows 7 as a platform to their new tablet Slate 2. New Windows 8 is to be more optimized for multitouch tablet displays, but new HP slate 2 will not have it. We can presume there will be an upgrade release soon after release.
HP Slate 500, a fan-less 8.9-inch Windows 7 slate gets an upgrade to HP Slate 2. It maintains the body but upgrades keyboard Swype software input. This software allows you to form letters by swiping across letters to form words. It’s a cool and quick way to type. HP Slate 2 is run by Intel Atom Z670 processor. It offers 32 GB SSD storage and extra SD card slot for expansion. Battery is to give us 6 hours on a charge.
There is a webcam and a rear facing 3 megapixel camera. HP Slate 2 is coming out in November and should cost around $699.
