The Dell Streak 7 uses the Android 2.2 OS and the NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor. The Dell Streak 5 is the smart phone version and can be used to connect over 3G and call people. The Streak 7, on the other hand, does not have that feature for phone functions. Dell and T Mobile offer this as standalone tablet that can use WiFi and 3G. However, there are some discoveries that you might see as you access the tablet. When you tap the phone icon to run the contact manager, the screen will reveal a phone like interface. You can actually dial on the interface but sadly, the phone call will be cut off in a second.

You can say that this is a legacy code from Android 2.2 that the Dell developers might have overlooked when they released it but in recent discoveries, you can call another phone and actually make a connection but it gets abruptly ceased. It is a possibility then that Dell can offer phone capabilities on the Dell Streak 7 in Europe and other countries. It was actually done before with the Samsung Galaxy Tab. Only in the US is the Galaxy Tab cannot be used to make calls. In other countries, it serves as a huge smart phone.
