Archos Gen9 Cheap Tablet

For more than 10 years already, Archos has been building portable media players. In recent years, they have been building low cost Android tablet options. According to some news, the company will soon be venturing to new Android tablet options. First, there is the Archos 9. It will utilize the ARM Cortex A9 Chips. By 2011, the company is planning to offer its first wave of 3G enabled tablets the Gen 9 will be low cost tablets with plastic casing and stainless steel frame. As for the storage, the company proposes a choice of hard drive and solid state options. The Arnova brand will also be kept and they will be the entry level options.

The company is trying to venture forth in a different market with their product offerings. According to data, though most mainstream companies have the largest shares in the tablet industry, Archos aims to be the biggest competitor in low cost tablets. The prices will be marked from $140 to $566. The company aims to seize that market and have global appeal on the ever expanding demand for tablets. They are also trying to push for education and health care markets since their tablet offerings will definitely be more attractive compared to most brands.
