RIM Trumpets PlayBook 2 Update
Canadian manufacturer RIM is at CES 2012 trumpeting an upcoming PlayBook refresh, which will become downloadable from next month. PlayBook 2 attempts to iron out many of the bugs in the original PlayBook. Email will at long last be offered on the 7-inch Blackberry tablet, with a whole bunch of email management tools including a unified inbox with integration for social networking, tabbed emails, rich text emailing, and a multi-account search.
Basically, PlayBook 2 is a turbo version of the popular Blackberry PlayBook. It looks as if all those people snapping up the Playbook at its much-reduced price point recently could be in for a pleasant surprise with support for multiple feeds and multiple accounts as well as new calendar features which will integrate with social networking sites. A number of new apps are also planned, as well as a video store for buying or renting movies and TV shows.. In hindsight all this should have been carried out shortly after original launch at the latest…
