Asus Eee PC 1001P is the new comer to the Pine trail market that comes with the Atom N450 processor that runs at 1.66GHz clock speed.
The new Asus 1001P consumer less power than the previous generation of Atom CPUs – TDP dropped from 8w to 7w. At the same time, the new processor runs at faster GPU core frequency: from 133MHz to 200MHz.
The Asus Eee 1001P comes equipped with 10.1-inch display with the 1024×600 resolution, 160GB hard disk and 1GB RAM. There is also a 0.3MP webcam for video calls. Comes with usual wifi radios – WiFi b/g/n and Bluetooth. Available in Blue, Black, White and Pink colors.
There are two models to choose from – The $299 model comes with 160GB HDD and runs Windows XP. Other model, that retails for $339 comes with a bigger 250GB HDD and runs Windows 7 Starter.
Regarding its keyboard, it is something on which one can easily touch type. It has a full size right shift key, just like full laptop size keyboards. We whole heatedly recommend this to the Journalists and students who want a compact machine with excellent battery life
