Production flaw in Sony Xperia Tablet S

Sony Xperia Tablet S – not so splash-proof!

A fault in manufacturing has seen Sony put a temporary stop to sales of its Xperia Tablet S. Several units have come of the assembly line with faults in the case. A small gap is appearing between the chassis and the display panel causing the device to let in moisture.

Sony is not sure if this is affecting all Xperia Tablet S devices or just a small quantity that are isolated to one region. Sony has apologised to its 100,000 tablet consumers and is offering free inspections and subsequent repair of any faulty devices that are found.

Sony’s press release was in Japanese, possibly implying that the problem was located in Japan only. We don’t know if any United Kingdom or United States models are affected.

Sony is also advising the owners of its new Xperia Tablet S to keep it away from water and moist conditions. This stops the “Splash proof Xperia S” pitch though.

The issue much larger then they let us believe, their actualy tiny gap at the power buttons for me, my tablet turns out not to have pre production issues.
Friend of mine has tiny gap 13 cm long at bottom at tablet where port plug is located.

Wonder how long it takes untill sony gets penalty for false advertising.
