Sony is getting ready its refreshed VAIO Duo slider. The 13-inch Windows 8 convertible ultrabook appears to be slimmer and promises a 10 hour battery.
Looking much like Sony Vaio Duo 11, this new slightly larger slider should have similar hardware specs, including Intel Core i5 chip, 4GB of RAM, and 128GB SSD. The 13-inch full HD display will feature Triluminos display technology.
UK’s Dixons training video suggests a new slimmer design to Sony Vaio Duo ultrabooks. The short video adds a NFC (Near Field communication), backlit keyboard, ClearAudio+, and Exmor RS 8 megapixel camera. In fact all Sony VAIO Fit line is seeing many of these features standardized. Sony VAIO Fit 14 and 15 as well as E (economy versions) line will have minimum of 1,600 x 900 pixels, Exmor R camera, the backlit keyboard, Windows 8 OS and NFC as standard offering. Sony VAIO Fit notebooks, and no doubt this new Sony Vaio Duo Slider, will get the Imagination Studio package thrown in for the back-to-school season.
On related news, Sony had just posted a first in half a decade annual profit. In 2012 Sony made net profits of $458 million. Let’s hope the Sony VAIO Duo and Sony VAIO Fit lines will do well for Sony this year.
