Social Media rising
Social Media is on the rise. We know that text messaging is the most common use of phone. About half of us play downloaded apps. Using Social Networking sites to share pictures and stories is growing tremendously. We spend about 20 percent of our time on our PCs and even more on our smartphones and tablets liking it, pinning it, digging it and stumbling upon it.
An annual Social Media report by Nielsen shows that in July alone we spent 2300 centuries worth of time sharing it all via Facebook, Twitter and a slew of other social media sites. That is equivalent of every American spending 6.5 hours a month laying it all down with popular social sites.
The most popular by far is of course Facebook. In one month alone Facebook saw 152.2 million using PCs, 78.4 million accessing FB via Facebook app, and 74.3 million visitors on mobile web. Facebook is followed by well known Blogger, Twitter, WordPress and LinkedIn. The fastest growing social media site is Pinterest. It grew 1000 percent in a year.
We all like our computers and the world wide web, but the time we spend on our smartphones and tablets increased by 63 percent in a single year.
