ASUS still a bit doubtful about the success of Smartbooks

Asus is in no rush in rolling out their first Smartbook. In fact, there is not a single smartbook prototype being shown at CES 2010. According to the Asus’ chairman, the major roadblock in the success of Smartbooks is the lack of software availability.

Past record has shown that consumers still prefer Windows netbooks/notebooks over Linux netbooks/notebooks. So that could probably the major reason why Asus does not have much faith in the Smartbook market

  1. Intel Atom sucks for both Windows and Linux. At least Smartbooks do one of those justice.
