Tag Heuer Racer – What’s In A Name?

Tag Heuer Racer - eye-catching design

The Tag Heuer Racer was recently announced, a luxury Android handset that will go on sale in somewhat exclusive establishments in July, priced at $3600. And in case anyone was in any doubt, for the moment you will be signing up just for the name – the only details available form the Swiss luxury watch manufacturer (a subdivision of Louis Vuitton, itself a subsidiary of Christian Dior) is that the smartphone will sport the latest Ice Cream Sandwich iteration of Google’s Android OS.

The precise spec list is unknown, but Tag Heuer’s reputation for providing a build material quality and precise technology means buyers should be getting a decently-specced handset for that sort of money. We suspect a dualcore device with emphasis on the Tag Heuer Racer’s GT-style design. It looks a pretty chunky piece of kit, and joins the ranks of other luxury handsets, amongst them the LG Prada and Nokia Vertu.
