Acer AC700, otherwise known as Acer Chromia 700, has finally made it to the stores. To recap, Acer Chromia 700 runs 1.6GHz Intel Atom N570 processor with Intel GMA 3150 graphics. Display is 11.6 inch with resolution of 1366 X 766. Chromia 700 has 2GB of RAM and weighs 1380gm (48.7 oz). For connectivity we have 802.11 b/g/n WiFi (or 3G and WiFi). Front Facing camera has 1.3Mp. Battery is 6 cell Lithium-Ion and it should last about 8 hours.

Acer AC700 Chromebook is sold for $349.99. This is a WiFi only version. 3G will come later this summer. Acer Cromia AC761-1099 model is with WiFi only. Acer Cromia AC761-1529 is model WIFi and 3G model and it will sell for $429.99.

Acer AC700 runs on Chrome operating system much like Samsung Series 5 chromebook with safety and speed in mind and always up to date. The difference here would be the price. Samsung Series 5 is starting at $429.99. Also display of Samsung Series 5 is 12.1 inches, while display of Acer AC700 is 11.6 inch. There is also small difference in battery life, also negligible. Performance wise both Samsung Series 5 and Acer AC700 are comparable.
