Nokia saved by Windows Phone OS

  • Sharebar

Old Symbian operating system of Nokia smartphones got replaced by new robust Windows Phone 7 OS.

Nokia Lumia 800

Nokia Lumia 800 has proven just like iPhone 4S that one does not have to change the design to topple the sales, so long as there are solid software and hardware improvements. For the iPhone 4S, this was Siri. For Nokia it seems new OS is the guardian angel.

One of the features that make Nokia Lumia stand out is Xbox LIVE support. With Xbox LIVE one can access Xbox Marketplace for music, video and games. Besides Windows Phone entertainment features Nokia also brings Mix Radio to the table. Mix Radio allows users to access millions of songs and stream them for free and not just when you’re online. Mix Radio allows you to create playlists, which can be played offline up to 14 hours. Mix is also a good way to find new music, artists, concert venues, … heck you can even buy your tickets online.

Nokia is making a clear way back to the spot light of popular phone makers. For now Lumia is the only Windows Phone with Xbox LIVE support and Mix Radio, but new phones are soon to come in early 2012. We’ll keep a close eye and curious heart.
